Down 0-1 at HT. Chelsea look bigger and stronger than us as has been the case in the past finals we've played against them. Definately different philosophies at youth level..

We've had two or three great chances though. Brahim the main creator. We could do with Chelseas cutting edge though. They've definitely nailed that part of the game at youth level.

Need to be more clinical though. Wouldnt want to be going to Chelsea without a win under our belts.

Everton U23's have won the PL2 title, 6pt lead with one game left. Quite an achievement considering Holgate & Davies in particular have been with the first team for most of the season :thumbsu:

Any standouts to look out for next season?

Jonjoe Kenny is captain & has been on the bench a lot lately, will likely get some game time in the last few games as well. He's a right back, with Coleman out he needs a chance to put his hand up to fill a support role at least.

A few others have had some first team exposure already like Keiran Dowell, Liam Walsh & Joe Williams (all mids). Williams has returned from an ACL & then an ankle injury but seems a class above.

An apparently very good prospect is Beni Baningime, defensive midfielder who I first heard about a couple of years ago in one of those "next big thing" articles. Has stepped up this season & hasn't missed a beat, is only 18 too

You can sorta thank us for keeping City off your backs.

Was 2nd vs 3rd (Man City vs Liverpool) and we won 3-2 with Woodburn getting a double and Virtue getting a stoppage time winner.

Everton have been pretty much the standout all year. We've sort of hung in there but always struggling to catch up.

Still, I thought we'd struggle this year with a pretty young team and the change to U23's. So pretty happy with our season.

Youth cup second leg tomorrow. Will be hard but I live in hope. 18 of the 22 starters from the 1st leg eligible for England fwiw.

wouldnt be shocked either if simon davies isn't the coach. woeful in the uefa youth league, did get knocked out by the eventual winner (salzburg) but should've won. team has gone backwards since the choking vieira, both results wise and individual player performance. could see carsley promoted, especially if the u/18's finally get over chelsea.

is that simon davies the former spurs/wales winger that was a lot shitter than the other spurs/wales winger?

And thats it. 4-1.

Chelsea (again) just seem a much more advanced team. Full of power, pace and brutally efficient.

We're very technical but Chelsea don't lack anything in that department either.

Sigh. Maybe next year. Our best three at this level are all eligible for next years conp I think.

Wait and see the reasons but pretty poor either way. It apparently was for a Wolves kid and an Everton kid.

Rules are pretty clear cut. Thinking it's time for a shakeup in a few areas at the club.
