We've moved away from "wins are important" approach too. Playing much younger teams this season and the club are saying the kids learn as much from struggles as they do from dominant performances.

Haven't followed our matchday squads all that closely but there's definitely been some 16 and 17 year olds playing PL2 for us. While the more "senior" names have played in the UEFA competition, haven't checked the group standings there but did see we got an away win at Dortmund this week there too. Wouldn't surprise me if they've prioritised giving the older kids more European exposure and getting the real young ones playing up an age domestically.

We beat Scampaignerhorpe United 4-0 with Hudson-Odoi staring again apparently. 10 goals and 7 assists in 12 starts this season for the lad.
when's he off to vitesse?

So will you sign someone else to be #2 who he'll also have to compete with when he returns in 2019/20?

Ideally you'd be looking at someone who'd be willing to be backup similar to Drinkwater for a season and then they can go and Tammy comes in to compete with Morata

he was a scholar for a little bit, although he was also a fulham scholar at the same time. we never offered him a professional deal and sunderland picked him up.
Fair enough. Googled him and saw he came from Fulham. I've never heard of him before.
