Angel Gomes had a good week. Captained and scored for England U17's in a nice win 5 days ago.

Came off the bench for the U18's yesterday and scored a nice hatty in a come from behind 5-1 win against Everton. Even at 15 years of age, he is too good for this level. Needs to be pushed to the U23's soon. We've got some really impressive talent in the 18's and with a lot of list cloggers being moved on over the summer, there is a decent chance of a lot of kids lining up for the u23's soon. Aidy Barlow, O'Connor, Burkhart, Gribbin, Chong and Gomes look quality. Indy Boonen (compared to KDB through his youth career) has started the season on fire too.

U23's drew 1-1 with Chelsea yesterday.

What was that cup teams were competing in this morning? Was that the old Johnstone Paint trophy (or whatever that was called)?
EFL Cup is the League Cup and EFL trophy is the JP Trophy.... I think ;)

38 players out on loan. Starting to get a bit ridiculous.

I find it hilarious that Chelsea's best central defender is out on loan. Hilarious. Kinda like that 4 year loan deal we had with Juve.

Yeah, it sucks that we have to wait another season for him. Handy Terry replacement though.

Ake is another that annoys me, should be our starting LB.

At least Christensen has been able to develop with a consistent loan spell, unlike a lot of Chelsea's other prospects. If that means we have to wait a year to see him in a Chelsea shirt then so be it. Not ideal but far better than the alternative.

Nicky Butt is on fire. Your academy is terrified.

Manchester United swoop for West Brom youth chief Steve Hopcroft to kick-start Academy production line

Manchester United have lured the country’s top spotter of young talent to Old Trafford after West Brom’s Steve Hopcroft agreed to join the Red Devils’ Academy.

Hopcroft has been responsible for developing a string of players who have now earned Premier League title and international honours and will be tasked with repeating the feat under Jose Mourinho.

The Baggies’ head of youth recruitment will take up a position left vacant after Derek Langley left two months ago.

The move is part of a wide-ranging re-vamp at youth level as Manchester United attempt to re-discover a core part of the club’s DNA.

Hopcroft has been employed by the Baggies for the past eight years and is credited with bringing through a string of players who are now reaching first-team level.

Saido Berahino is the biggest name, but teenagers Jonathan Leko, Sam Field and Kane Wilson have all appeared for Tony Pulis’ side this season.

He was responsible for introducing Nathan Redmond and Demarai Gray, now of Southampton and Leicester respectively, to the club.

He's the top spotter of talent in the country and the biggest name on his CV is Saido Berahino. PMSL.

Has Woody been telling porkies again?
blame the daily mirror, not woody. Nathan Redmond and Demarie Gray are far better players than Saido. He hasn't exactly had the resources at West Brom that he'll have at Carrington. Good to see his players get first team opportunities. They'll be given the same chances at United so it's a good move.

he sent most of them out on loan. Don't remember seeing any play at Bayern. Maybe Julian Green but he only played 2 games last year i think.

Glass houses and all that.
