Dead rubber before a cup final. Understandable.
Pereira, Tuanzebe and Mitchell the only chances out of them to make it. Would have posted it in the matchday thread but RossFC is being a lazy ass

You have a real hard on for that Gomes bloke.

Reminded me of this though.

A young TAA as a mascot. Now playing for first team. Pretty incredible.

The United youth coaches have given me the hard on lol. They compare him as a cross between Scholes and Iniesta. Who wouldn't want that in their first team! Named England U17 captain aged 15. One of our youth team coaches said he was ready for the first team last year when he was just 15 . The Prem don't allow anyone under the age of 16 to play tho.

#Goo :D

He won't be ready for senior football for 3-4 years if ever imo.

Lots of physical development to do.

We have Brahim who us a year older, and when we bought him the talk was that Barca rated him first team material at 16.

He's so much stronger now than what he was, and he's been very good at U23 level. But still a few years away from anything more than a taste here or there.

Him and Carra will be playing together in Sydney on Wednesday.

The Angel is fine to play. The danger is not physical development but him getting injuries from overtraining at 16. People wonder why England are shit. Brahim could play in La Liga now but will be held back for 3 years so he can get in the gym ffs.

it's just the nature of the league. how is a 17 year old kid who is still a kid body wise going to go against Dembele-Wanyama type players?

same reason Winks took til 21 to make the move up

By being quicker and more skillful than them. If you are good enough then you are old enough.

until a kid in a kids body proves he can do that in the PL I'm going to back the professionals who dont think they're ready.

all the kid wonders have at least been physically pretty strong for their age (thinking Rooney pace & strength, Owen sheer pace playing off the shoulder). for a CM it's very hard for them to be able to just rely on their skill if they are 60-65 kgs up against monsters who are also no slouches pace wise themselves

Gomes is a no.10. Messi went alright as a kid.

Don't talk about stuff you know nothing about.

why are you talking about Angel then hypocrite?
I've watched him play live and on TV several times.

I've offered my opinion, not sure how that is hypocritical.

It wasnt even critical of him but you lot are so defensive nowadays.

I've watched Brahim Diaz play several times, thus I'm comfortable giving my opinion on the player.

La Liga is a less physical league and more suited to technical players.

As a #10 its still quite hard to escape the physicallity of the CBs/DMs which would make it hard for him.
it won't be easy for him but he is capable. People try and kick him off the park in almost every game he plays but they don't get close to him.

only on TV. Does that matter?
Not really. But my thoughts on Gomes are based on seeing him play live and on TV. I've seen him pushed aside at U18 level let alone senior football. Not on the usual Man United wankfest that happens every couple of years with the next big young thing I'm afraid.

He's got a lot of technical ability. He might make it at Premier League level but he's a long way away atm.

He doesnt justify a silly nickname just yet, or reviews that consider him anything more than a promising kid.

How many U23 games has he played?
