sorry mate, was thinking as in elviss, johno, smith and silvagni as backmen. Didnt realise it was intended as swingman.
Still WOULD consider him ahead of smith as forward, but DO NOT RATE AS FORWARD AT ALL,so back-up is there but quality back-up is not.
Alot saying Tabs will be a major improver next year though.
All three Elvis Johnno and Silver have gone forward in their time , Smith has a long way to go TBH .
Tabby with another preseason under his belt and the games he got this year will bring on his development so much faster and he will be pressing for best 22 during the NAB Cup so Gumbelton is going to have a fight on his hands to nail a spot in the team .
RTB is going to have a ball watching the competition for all spots in the team .

Preseason watchers be warned we will want you to keep your eyes on the field and not dreaming of what to have at Culley's after training .
With Morra, Kepler , Griff and Gumboots to watch and report on.

Dont disregard Moller as a future key forward. Can take a grab,Quick with a good tank, reasonable kick and for a kid his size is good below his knees
Those who have watched his progress in last seasons training drills have been impressed and one of the long time watchers who is usually spot on with his assesment of the young talent (Bluey) reckons he will be the answer with a couple more pre's under his belt

Agreed Salim, but I reckon 2 pre's is conservative. He's an absolute stringbean. Can't doubt his potential though.

Bluey has seen them come and go . The best of the best and a few no hopers but yes Salim Moller has all the attributes of being a very good footballer .
He is a natural , nothing fancy but the whole package as well as being level headed .
The Skinny kid has also put on some serious muscle during the year as well.

I honestly never know where the South Australians will go. Because I see so much of them, I just use my own rankings and they are perhaps a tad biased. But in terms of Cameron Giles, I would have him anywhere from about 20-40. Which does cover our second rounder.

Firstly, he has played up forward before. Prior to this season, he tended to play as an undersized ruckman who would push forward. He was almost an extra midfielder in that role, which I have no doubts has helped him with his rebounding. As a defender, he shares a lot of similiarities with Luke McPharlin - preference for marking over punching, same little sidestep and even his kicking style is Elvis like. Because he is still new to the role, his actual defensive work still does need to improve - positioning, spoiling on the lead and that sort of thing. So while he does have a lot of real positives, if he doesn't improve as a defender then he will never make it.

But I've been wrong in the past with KPDs. So maybe he goes much later, and my constant talking up of him has fooled all of BigFooty.

Sold, sold, sold!

For some reason i watched a fair bit of the Round 23 game last night.. struck me (perhaps again), how quick and agile Moller was for a big bloke. He is about 3 times more agile than a guy like Hannath and seems more athletic than Griffin as well. Out of the "Rucks", he has the most tools to do damage up forward in time IMO depending on how his body ends up of course

His development has been similar to Clarke when he first joined us and both have a basket ball background .
Clarke came to football late , both have a great leap , are quick for their height with good endurance .

Moller however has had the benefit of really good junior coaching and reads the play as good as anyone
we have so the upside is that he is improving faster than Clarke at the same age .

He has also played with and against boys older than him and it didn't phase him at all .

Moller was also a leader during his school days so being put forward as a future member of the leadership group in the club would also be on the cards.

I see him being more of a J . Roughhead type player in the not to distant future .
Playing FF and doing the Ruckwork in the Forward 50

His build is a lot different to both those players and he is more suited to the same roll that Clarke plays
We will need Griff and Hanna to do the hard physical work around the ground when ever a pack forms but Moller has the ability to find space and create 1 on 1 marking contests which will help us get the ball out of the back line and keep it moving into the forward line if he is needed but because of his speed the opposition backs would find it very hard to match up on him therefore they will look to double team him allowing other forwards free to create a loose player for goal opportunities .
I was thinking just now what it would be like for an opposition coach to plan a strategy around trying to cover both Clarke and Moller at the same time .
Bloody Scary to say the least :confused:

Do you actually know all that you're stating about Moller and his background or are these statements presumptions.

I find it hard to say he is developing quicker than Clarke at the same stage. Have you watched him play TAC Cup because I like most haven't.

Having said that I still think he will be a good player.

All information about Moller's background on the web posted by our posters prior to him being drafted .

The other points are my observations watching him play for Peel and talking to other posters and trainers at Fremantle both during the preseason and watching him play during the season.

Moller was a very good junior tennis player
Gave up Tennis to concentrate on AFL
Thanks Salim
For the back up on the quality of this fine young man being a very good all round sportsman .
Just shows you how lucky we are to have spotted him when he was so young and get him insterested in AFL .

I just want a kid that is good at and loves football. You talk like a family member or somebody that has seen him play 100 games couldhavebeen. Strange!
He strikes me as a great kid and full of potential for our Club and can't wait to see him blossom into a major force in the game all things going right for him and us .
