I'll update it later today. It should be a case of everyone moving up a spot, but I have also reviewed a couple of players who I'm starting to like more. So there'll probably be a few other changes.

Cheers for the reply.

Finals are coming up so there's an immediate tweaking followed by a break/exams which seamlessly flows onto the AFL's Draft Camp which will be followed by invitations to the Draft.

If Balta goes in the top ten, this draft is insanely weak.
Is there a list assembled of potential draftees by position? Just asking as the group of key forwards looks a pretty small one. As draft watchers how hard is it to get a bead on the forwards. The mids both inside and outside do there thing , the key backs from what I saw at the champs had a pretty easy time of it knowing how bad the disposal was coming in and just zoning off. The key forwards this is the tough one as most had to work real hard to compensate for the delivery they were getting. What are the kpi's you are looking for

Good list at the moment Chris, swap Higgins with Clark and it'd be a very similar top ten to mine. I've usually had very different lists to yours in the past.

One I think you have underrated is Balta, close to top ten IMO.

Not often that someone agrees with me, always nice. I'll post a mini update once I take Sutherland out, think Higgins moved up a couple of spots. I really like the way Hunter Clark goes about his football though.

Balta is one who certainly passes the eye test, but I'm still not sure on his best position. If he has the freedom to roam, he looks good. His intercept marking down back is especially promising. But he struggles when he has an opponent or when a defender locks in on him, which is an issue at the next level.

But I tend to think defending can be taught, in which case he has potential to be a Jake Carlisle type player. I'll still keep him a touch lower for now though.

I really like Houlahan as well, but I dont think he will go first round. Mid second onwards I think.
Love his speed and contested marking.

I agree that he won't go first round, anywhere between 25 and 40 I think is about right. As talented as he is, he just isn't a big possession winner at the moment. But I personally rate him higher, his 10 touches are better than 20 touches from a lot of players in this draft.

Really hope Balta is there for one of our first rounders.

I'm just finishing up a first round mock draft, and you should be quite happy. Should have it up tonight or tomorrow.

Interestingly, I found the #1 pick the hardest.

After his BOG 39 possession game I think you would have Stephenson in the mix since you still have him at 1 in your rankings

Clear #1 prospect for me. Always has been, always will be. But I'm not so sure Brisbane take a skinny Metro flanker at the top.

Brisbane will finish 16th or 17th, the Blues will get the spoon IMO. Paddy Dow seems to be the most popular on the Lions board with our draft gurus. Dow, O'Brien and Coffield before Ballenden is bid on would be our current dream draft to go with our fantastic 4 from last year, it would really set us up with a great chance to move substantially up the ladder.

Sunday showed he can be more than a flanker, looked superb in the middle he had the desire to win contested possessions aswell

He has a few Dangerfield styled attributes, just interesting to see if he projects those Dangerfield inside midfield ability.
If he can back up those kind of performances in the midfield I'd give him every chance

Think the Lions take the Brisbane supporter we missed our chance with Oliver instead we chose Schache who at the moment seems like the wrong choice

That'd help. Didn't realise Stephenson was a Brisbane fan, I guess a few of the kids recently would have grown up back when Brisbane were good. I think they're more likely to go for an inside midfielder though? Someone who can get the ball out to the likes of McCluggage and Witherden.

They could have Berry develop into that type of player. Stephenson has that speed out of the middle which McCluggage and Witherden don't have aswell, I can think of many genuinely fast players at the Lions of the top of my head.

You can make either argument. Inside ball winners and outside midfielders are both needed I would have thought.

I definitely see Berry developing on the inside, but he's just one player. He'll need some friends, and I'll always argue it's best to develop from the inside out. One player who I'm a big fan of is Jacob Allison, I still had him as a top 25 prospect last year. He has speed that not even Stephenson can match, and I imagine would play a similar half forward/midfield role. Throw in Cedric Cox off half back, and then hope a bid for Ballenden doesn't come in before their next pick so they can take an outside midfielder.
