Expect Jammo, Walker and a couple of the kids, maybe even Fev if he stays dry, to be added to the list by the end of the year....hopefully.

It will be more than 10 or else it's an absolute joke.

Look at the NBA - When the Charlotte Bobcats came into the league each club had to nominate 10 untouchables, everyone else was able to be picked.

AFL lists are much bigger than NBA rosters. The NBA teams were allowed their starting 5 and their best 5 bench players to all be safe, so to see anything else happen in the AFL would be a disgrace.

It should be an untouchable list of 25 at the very least.

Sure it wasn't a safe list of 8 players? Otherwise i'm pretty sure the Kings would've been able to keep Gerald Wallace.

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Charlotte_Bobcats_expansion_draft

After looking this up it was only 8 protected players. This is roughly half an NBA roster size. If you protect too many players then the expansion sides will have AWFUL teams playing. Gotta give them some chance of snaring a half decent player or 2. 18-22 (ish) protected players would seem fair enough to me. That way they could score a good veteran or a promising untapped youngster perhaps. Otherwise they'll be the whipping boys for years to come (i.e. Carlton)

I am a bit worried about Hampson as he is a Queensland boy.

All players want to go back to their home state, and with big money on offer, they'll definitely go after him if he keeps improving as he has.

I'm sure his manager will be telling him not to resign with Carlton just yet!

3. Matthew Kreuzer
4. Bryce Gibbs
5. Jarrad Waite
6. Brendan Fevola
7. Shaun Hampson
8. Andrew Walker

10. Kade Simpson

2. Marc Murphy
3. Bryce Gibbs
4. Matthew Kreuzer

Everyone else I'd consider trading if the right offer was on the table.
They can have Stevens, Houlihan and maybe Thornton or Fisher to build a team if they want to offer us a first round pick from all the draft concessions they'll receive.

They'll have to trade the draft picks for senior players.

There's no way in hell a top junior prospect is going to play in a lower competition for two years and not the AFL to stall his development. The AFL will have a restraint of trade case on their hands if they make the next Kreuzer sit out of football so the Gold Coast can get their hands on him.

But I have faith in the AFL doing the right thing.

They'll be a super team if they get all those first round selections.

In Order:
Chris Judd
Brendan Fevola
Jarrod Waite
Nick Stevens
Marc Murphy
Bryce Gibbs
Heath Scotland
Brad Fisher
Jake Edwards - Really like this kid, hope he gets another game soon
Michael Jamison

Read an article about how Gold Coast Team is going to get players for their team.

One rumour was clubs will be asked to rank their top 10 players, with those players untouchable, however gold coast may be able to have 1 player outside this list from each team.

Obviously this has to be agreed to by the clubs, but if it was agreed to what would our list be.

I won't put them in order, my list is:

Judd
Kreuzer
Gibbs
Murphy
Hampson
Waite
Jamison
Walker
Fev
Stevens

I could have left Fev & Stevens out as they will both be 30 when new team starts. However at present not many others I could put in the list.

Our 1st draft pick this year will be untouchable & maybe 2nd depending where that pick is.

Everyone's thoughts on the concept & whether it could eventuate & our list of 10.

for me..

take out hampson and add cloke
take out jamo and add scottland
and atm take out walker and add fish

Judd
Murphy
Fevola
Gibbs
Kreuzer
Hampson
Jamison
Waite
Walker
Bower

the last couple were hard, but I tried to make the nucleus of a very good team.
3 super midfielders: Judd Murph Gibbs
2 athletic ruckmen: Kreuz and Hammo
1 matchwinning forward: Fev
3 good, versatile defenders: Waite Jammo Bower
1 utility: Walker

10. Fish

GIbbs

Thornton
Kreuzer
Fev
Hampson
Walker
Russell ( After all we have invested we need to get something back. He wasnt picked in top 10 cuz he cant play)

Obviously u wouldnt leave stevo out now, but in 2 or 3 years time you cant really say what his output would be.

On the topic of Simpson only getting a kick in an average side, did the person who said that happen to watch when Simpson captained the side last season?

Obviously not.

10 isn't enough in my opinion, if we have a list of 10, there'll be plenty of good players at each club available, which will significantly weaken all other AFL clubs but make the Gold Coast club very strong, considering they'll get Nick Reevolting as Captain
