Daniher I rate highly but he won't be better than Hogan if he can't put some size on, is very weak through the core for a guy of his height.

Agreed, but if he can ever get the strength to of someone like a riewoldt to hit the footy at its highest point he could be anything

He's an interesting one. Was drafted in 2012 so has been in the system for a while now. I'd say if he doesn't start gaining that strength by 2017 he never will, and it'll really hurt his footy because you can just block his leap at the ball.

We give Jesse a lot of s**t but the only area Daniher clearly has it over him is reach, both of them are unreliable kicks for goal but Hogan is ahead in all other areas whilst being a year younger.

I think Jesse will be an all round better footballer as in more 20 touch 10 Mark 3 goal games but I reckon Daniher will kick more goals over his career
It took Jack Watts about 6 years to get real strength into his body so could be the same with Daniher

Joe Daniher will not kick more goals than Josh Kennedy, Jeremy Cameron, Buddy, Josh Jenkins, GC Lynch will probably kick less than crows Lynch too.
Then there is the small forward factor: Betts, Rioli, Greene and crew.

Joe Daniher will not even be top 5 for the Coleman and there is a strong case that he won't even be in the top 10. Bookmark please.

I'll very happily take a bet he makes the top 10, that's just money for jam

Finished in the top 15 this year and had an identical season disposals marks goals and behind wise to Hogan
Actually kicked 2 more than Hogan which is pretty impressive considering how ******* s**t essendon was
He's more undeveloped physically than Hogan and has at least as much potential IMO

Poor knowledge of footy if that's your opinion

If he is top 5 I will delete my account. If he isn't you delete yours.

You said he'd win it, I'm giving you four extra spots.
Time for you to put your superior footy knowledge to the test.

You said top 10
I'll take that as a top 10 bet yeah

I said he'd win it because it's boring predicting the bloke who won it last year will win it again

You said he'd win it!
Haha

Are you retreating Mr POSTER OF THE YEAR?
What happened to the unwarranted air of confidence that I've become so used to?
You have a superior knowledge, put your money where your mouth is or zip it.

2 time poster of the year actually, my accounts worth more than yours

Yeah I think he's a chance of winning it
I'll take the top 10 bet

Agree with Topkent in that Daniher probably has just as much potential as Hogan, and you have to commend Daniher's mental fortitude in playing consistently well in such a poor Essendon side.
Both are versatile players. Daniher can go into the ruck at times and relieve Leuenberger, while Hogan can play down back if needed, we've even seen him go into the midfield at times and have an impact.
Based on stats so far you'd have to say Daniher is better as a forward as he takes more marks despite the poor delivery he had this season.
That being said, if Daniher outscores Hogan next season, Melbourne should be ashamed. Essendon has a strong midfield but considering we nabbed their best kick in Hibberd and also have Lewis, Salem and Watts who are elite kicks of the footy, it's a catastrophe if Hogan can't kick 50 while playing as the number one forward.
Unless Weidemann kicks 40 next year or Tim Smith plays better at AFL level than VFL level and kicks 35-odd, Hogan should outscore Daniher who also has Hooker(who is a great mark) playing in the same forward fifty arc.
