Well our opinions differ.

Fasolo might be small, but he is not particularly fast and he is in love with the goalposts. Not so much in love with chasing and pressure. That being the reason Collingwood stamped his ticket.

Mobile big guys are more useful than statue like big guys, but you need more than that. Two pressure forwards is not enough. Richmond will be playing 4 of them, down from 5. And some judges think the addition of Lynch, as talented as he is, will make their forward line as a unit less effective.
Not sure I’d go as far as saying Richmond played 5 pressure forwards last year.

I’d say more often than not is was Riewoldt, Caddy, another mid/medium (Edwards, Townsend, Graham, etc) then three smalls: Rioli, Butler & Higgins the first choice with Castagna & Bolton as depth.

This year it’s probably going to be Riewoldt, Lynch, Caddy, Rioli, Higgins & Butler, with a chance they play someone like Edwards forward instead of one of the smalls.

If we play Charlie, McKay, Mitch, Fasolo plus 2 of Fisher, SPS, Bugg, Murphy, etc as the smalls our structure isn’t that drastically different to theirs.

Pies will have Cox and Reid/Mihocek, plus mediums in De Goey, Hoskin-Elliott, smaller types in Varcoe, Thomas or Stephenson.

Eagles will have JJK, Darling, Vardy, Cripps, Rioli, Ryan.

I don’t think anyone will play 4 dedicated pressure forwards week-in-week-out next season.

What I like about our forward line (and rest of side) is we have options and flexibility.

I’m confident in Charlie McGovern McKay Murphy Bugg and hopeful on TDK Kerr LeBois Fasolo Jack Finbar Owies I also expect Cripps Kennedy Setterfield Fisher SPS Walsh Dow to spend time up forward.

The most interesting thing for me will be how Bolts & Co structure it

Having Fasolo isn't ideal and Docherty's injury is just a kick to the Balls, however this 22 looks pretty good!

Looks good Soapy but noticed no Murph listed here? Would of thought he’d still be in our best 22 next year let alone top 30.
A bit surprised to see LeBois on field but hope he can get to that level.
Also really hoping Cuningham makes it and think you posted recently he’s been training strongly. Definitely a make or break year for the kid though.

HB: Jack Silvagni, Caleb Marchbank, Nic Newman
C: Lochie O'Brien, Patrick Cripps, Zac Fisher
HF: Sam Petrevski-Seton, Charlie Curnow, Marc Murphy
F: Mitch McGovern, Harry McKay, Alex Fasolo
FOLL: Matthew Kreuzer, Paddy Dow, Ed Curnow

I/C: Sam Walsh, Dale Thomas, Matthew Kennedy, Will Setterfield.

Cover: Jones, Bugg, LeBois, Tom De Koning.

As for Cunningham, Williamson, Macreadie and Setterfield (who I made an exception for by placing on the bench) I can't justify placing on the field until they prove their bodies can handle the sport. Broken until proven otherwise.

The small forward line is the biggest concern to me (the young midfield is what it is, just needs time).
Seen some highlights of LeBois and he looks absolutely electric but minuscule. Does anyone know what his forward pressure/hunger is like?
I'm concerned about Fasolo in this regard but he is the only talented small/medium natural goalkicker on our list. Perhaps Daisy needs to be played forward but he might be too slow. I had hoped Pickett would be fit and hungry but that seems more like a dream than a plausible reality at the moment.

Also, I thought Jack Silvagni looked really comfortable down back last season when played there and think he looks like a great lockdown defender. Really hope he is given that responsibility and settled there.

HB - Simpson, Weits, Marchbank
C - Willo, Cripps, LOB
HF- Murph, Charlie, Fisher
F- Faz, McKay, McG

Murphy borderline for finals 2020 but would be happy if he makes it. Cuningham was a mistake. Should be in (hopefully)

As for LeBois that's just my wish. Long odds though

Could be a fizzer...
I too was not excited by picking up Fasolo when it happened but I went back to my old friend YouTube and watched a few full game replays of the Collingwood VFL team last season. Boy was I impressed with him. He's actually quicker than I thought and applies good defensive pressure. Was an electric target up forward for their team last season and if he can straighten up his goal kicking, will be an awesome get for us.

Fas will be a great addition to the side, mark my words.
