Your Away Jumper....

I've said it before about away jumpers, after yesterdays match, Melbourne and Freo jumpers looked very similar.

New away (clash?) jumper for Melbourne?.

My husband complained about that throughout the game, and then again when we watched it on video when we got home. I told him he's getting old...

But seriously - maybe we should have just worn ours... Melbourne have their all-red one with the Demon logo on the side (which IMO looks great); but if they were too silly, stubborn - whatever - to wear it, maybe we should have just worn the white strip. It looks fantastic and would have (maybe) made a point to the powers that be.

I agree, i've liked the away strip ever since I saw it wor against the Saints for the first time last year. The Purple Haze jumper should be the permanent home jumper, just change it, it's not as if there's 100 years of tradition attached to the jumper like there is with Essendon and COllingwood.

I had trouble telling the jumpers apart when the ball was at the furtherest end of the ground. Melbourne really should have worn their clash jumper.

Melbourne have worn the red jumper vs Carlton and Ess for the past 2 years. They should be forced to do so by the AFL against us as well.

The AFL need to show some muscle and force all clubs to have an alternative. light and dark, white and coloured, whatever, just two opposing jumpers so that there is always a clear difference. Saying "look at the shorts or look at the socks" isn't much good when we had white on the front of our jumper too, and both had white numbers on the back.

The issue also isn't that there is a problem, just that there could be a problem, and there is much less of a problem with the alternative strip. No-one has to change colours, just design.

I think the Freo white jumper looks pretty ordinary. This isn't an opposition cheap shot either. I actually prefer your normal home jumper. Just my opinion.

I do agree with ThePope though, every team should have alternative strips.

The white jumper is the "clash strip" and will only be used for away games.

Yesterday's jumper clash was a joke, which was made worse by the poor light. I can't work out why Melbourne didn't wear their alternate jumper.

is absolutely brilliant. Would you guys want them to be your permanent jumper because personally they are alot better than your normal home jumper.

It's awesome. Keep that as our away uniform and the exact opposite (Purple Haze) for home. Simple.
And yeah, the clash with Melbourne's top was a bit lame.

The alternative jumper had been "hijacked" and has been seen in abundance around the Mt Hotham area.
