WOW.

Some kind of best 22=> where is the depth though?

Really not a lot of experience in that second team. Rereading it Nelson and Rotham are decent medium defenders, Schofield’s still good(surprised he’s not best 22), Waterman and Hickey can play.

But it looks like you really don’t bat 30 deep. That’s surprising to me. Any WAFL players you’re going to look at drafting late rounds?

I actually think we bat deeper than we ever have.

According to my best 22:

B: Shannon Hurn, Tom Barrass, Brad Shepperd
HB: Lewis Jetta, Jeremey McGovern, Liam Duggan

C: Andrew Gaff, Elliot Yeo, Tim Kelly
R: Nic Natanui, Luke Shuey, Jack Redden

HF: Jamie Cripps, Jack Darling, Oscar Allen
F: Liam Ryan, Josh Kennedy, Jack Petrucelle

I: Tom Hickey, Josh Rotham, Dom Sheed,
Jarrad Cameron

That leaves:

Schoefield (Premiership player)
Cole (Premiership player)
Venables (Premiership player)
Hutchings (Premiership player)
Nathan Vardy (Premiership player)
Of the Premiership players, apart from Vardy who had a downer season, the rest are unlucky not to be in the best 22.

And also as depth:
Waterman
Nelson
Watson
Ah Chee

So I would say we bat 29 solid players deep.
Hence being able to win the Grand Final in 2018, at the G, missing NicNat, Gaff & Shep - who are key players not just role players. And our list has improved and grown since then. In our premiership year we debuted the equal most amount of players.

So I'm not saying we have the best depth in the AFL - but we do have good depth.

Other Port supporters help?
Slow AF bench. Ugh 2020. Not totally disastrous on paper but it doesn’t matter bc coach Ken.

B: Joel Garner, Tom Clurey, Hamish Hartlett

HB: Darcy Byrne-Jones, Tom Jonas, Ryan Burton

C: Xavier Duursma, Travis Boak, Karl Amon

HF: Zak Butters, Todd Marshall, Justin Westhoff

F: Robbie Gray, Charlie Dixon, Conor Rozee

R: Scott Lycett, Dan Houston, Willem Drew

I: Peter Ladhams, Tom Rockliff, Ollie Wines, Sam Powell-Pepper

Excluded... Steven Motlop, Jack Watts, Riley Bonner, Sam Gray
A rebuild team might preference Tobin Cox, Jarrod Liernet, Kane Farrell…

Im not sure if my Club has enough players remaining to make a team. I will get back to you. :$
Lol, will be a much younger side next season!

B: Brown, Talia, Doedee
HB: Milera, Himmelberg, Laird
C: Seedsman, Mrouch, Jones
HF: Lynch, Fogarty, Sloane
F: Stengle, Walker, McAdam
R: O'Brien, Smith, Brouch
I: Sholl, Gibbs, Gallucci, McHenry

Pick #4 may come straight in if a midfielder.

FB: Wood Cordy Duryea
HB: J.J Keath Crozier
C: Hunter Bontempeli Smith
HF: Maclean Naughton Suckling
FF: Dale Bruce Dickson
RR: English Macrae Dunkley

Yes on the Crows board, I have posted a side pretty much similar to this.

How I'd line up for Round 1 next season with a fit list:

FB: Ed Vickers-Willis, Majak Daw, Marley Williams
HB: Jasper Pittard, Robbie Tarrant, Shaun Atley
C: Trent Dumont, Ben Cunnington, Jared Polec
HF: Shaun Higgins, Nick Larkey, Mason Wood
FF: Cam Zurhaar, Ben Brown, Tarryn Thomas
R: Todd Goldstein, Jack Ziebell, Ben Jacobs
I/C: Jy Simpkin, Paul Ahern, Jed Anderson, Luke Davies-Uniacke

Expect to see Ahern persisted with as a rebounding half back flanker, while Simpkin, Anderson and LDU to rotate through the middle, with Ziebell, Higgins, Thomas and Zurhaar all interchangable through the midfield and forward line. Backline is probably the weakest part of the line-up given EVW and Daw are relative unknowns given their injury history, but if they are both fit and firing, they would form a great trio with Tarrant.

Dimma loves Boobies and George. Not sure they would be in the best 22 in any other team. But in this team they are the foreign components that make a Ferrari.
Rioli needs to stop coasting and lift a bit next year. George showed a lot in the GF (just not kicking for goal lolol) - reckon he might be set for a big year

B: Tomlinson - May - Jetta
HB: Hore - Lever - Hibberd
C: Salem - Oliver - Langdon
HF: Petracca - T McDonald - Harmes
F: Melksham - Weideman - Fritsch
R: Gawn - Brayshaw - Oliver
I: Hunt - Jones - Kolodjashnij - vandenBerg

Depth
Defenders: Jordon - O McDonald - J Wagner - Petty

Midfielders: Baker - Sparrow - C Wagner - Nietschke

Forwards: Spargo - Chandler - Lockhart - Bedford - J Smith - Hannan - Neal-Bullen

Rucks: Bradtke - Preuss

A fair amount of work to be done this ND. More midfielders required, a classy small forward and no mature age state league players unless it’s a rookie listed ruckman or a player of Tim Kelly’s quality please.

I would change trengrove for Daniel.
Lipinski in for Dicko or dale

some depth there
Suckling
Wallis
Richards
West
Bailey Williams
Trengrove
Dickson

could all play round 1

Geary Carlisle Roberton
H.Clark Howard Wilkie
Hill Ross Billings
Battle Membrey M.Parker
Lonie M.King Butler

Marshal Steele Gresham

P.Ryder, Z.Jones, Dunstan/Bytel, B.Long

For Saints, we need Gresham and Bytel to somehow stand up as midfielders. Especially Gresham. Not a bad team now. building nicely. Just need more guns in mid. Which Gresham and Bytel can be.

Best Forward of his generation on the bench and a bloke lucky to be on an AFL List playing in the position that he will quite possibly end his career ? Yep that should work.

Who rucks with Nicnat in this team?

From a saints perspective, I'd go with the below:

FB: Geary Howard Wilkie
HB: Roberton Carlisle Clark
C: Hill Hanners Billings
HF: Gresham Battle Butler
FF: Lonie Membrey King
R: Marshall Steele Ross
I: Webster Jones Dunstan Ryder

It's a bit too tall probably and I'd like to get Hind in but injuries/form will sort it out.
Do you reckon Austin will get back into the side?

B: Williams - Tarrant - EVW
HB: Ahern - Daw* - Pittard
C: Dumont - Anderson - Polec
HF: Zurhaar - Larkey - Ziebell
F: Hosie - Brown - Thomas
RR: Goldstein - Higgins - Cunnington
I/C: Atley (Defence), Simpkin, LDU, Garner

Emergencies: J MacMllian, McDonald, Wood

*If no Daw available, then Durdin.
- Would much prefer Ahern than MacMillian at HB and it could easily be that way, as Ahern offers a little more rebound than a reliable J Mac.
- Assuming Jacobs won't be back on the park.
- I put Hosie ahead of Wood for now as a left-field choice, but the third tall position is dependent on pre-season form.
- Heavy forward-mid rotations with Ziebell/Cunnington/Thomas/Zurhaar all spending time forward and in the midfield.
- Defence feels a little top-heavy, but that's always been the case with North until we get some additional small HB cover.
- An injury prone Garner would be covered by a Curtis Taylor.
- Aaron Hall is still there and abouts, but he's back in the pecking order for now.

Not a bad side only omissions would be Jacobs will never play again due to injuries poor guy and Atley has had too many chances
