What's your best side with the current list? exclude injuries and all that stuff, If you were Danny Frawley and you were in the match comittee deciding the line up, how would it go?

Note:At the moment, I would have Rodan in and King out. But over the weeks King will get better so I have decided to put him in.

well he knocked himself out for one....
No seriously , I thought his game was a huge improvement on recent times. Mid you he had company. I've been on Rogers and Kings backs but I thought they showed some good fight.
Zantuck is a huge bonus from draft pick 70 something.

Knighter is worth a great deal to me as a Richmond icon.
BUT : I dont believe a week at coburg would kill him...i think he's bigger than that...Disco played a reserves game or two as he got older...i remember jimmy's last game was in the reserves, Round 22, 1988. I don't believe that a veteran in the reserves is a big disgrace. It's just a good place to get some form back.
Reserves footy is not a punishment.

I should know : that's where I played all the time .

yes he played alot better and so did the team but until he actually plays a game against the odds and produces the goods he will be my target.he,s been in the system long enough and has the skills to produce when the chips are down but does not.
even last night he tried a fancy kick over the shoulder in our fwd. things like that he has to leave that out in the park playing kick to kick.
as for knights id hate to be in danny,s shoes.their relationship would be on shaky ground as it is after danny giving knighter the flick as capt.
keep knighter for the next 2-3 weeks too see if he can perform if not then yes a time at coburg wont hurt.

No Duncan Kellaway! Injury appears to have been getting the better of him.

No Matthew Knights - form simply doesn't warrant selection at this stage.

Do you reckon Hall would give them a bit of a fright on the wing? 6'5" and can move like the wind! Just gotta teach him to bounce the ball occasionally!

The bench is there for the purposes of a midfield rotation, not as a demotion.

A point to note - of the players on our injury list, all feature in my best 22 - this is why we are struggling at the moment.

I will know go back and check my team against the others - see what the variances are!

Coughlan

I have been killing some time, by going back through some old posts. It is interesting to see that Coughlan was in hardly any one's BEST TEAM only 3 months ago. And that's because he was not getting a chance to prove himself.

It was not long after that instead of getting a few minutes hear and there, that the bullet was bitten (after we had no chance of making the finals) and he was given a chance to prove himself. The rest is, as they history.
It's funny what can happen when you show a bit of confidence in a kid.

This has been a bugbear of mine for a few years now.
We should of been giving more kids 3 or 4 weeks in a row where they are told that they are going to get a real chance to strut there stuff. Not sit them on the bench for most of the games that they are selected in. It will give them a bit of confidence. If they don't stand up to it then it's back to Coburg with a "well done, good effort, this is what you need to work on etc"

If we had of been winning a few more games earlier in the season Coughlan would still be warming the bench.
