That would seem a good batch of kids..
And fills all of our future needs.

Tall forward and tall defender. Small forwards and an outside midfielder.

Of course the cards won't fall that way but I'm intrigued to see what Wells and co have in mind.

On Ling, I'm staggered so many are into him when we have Murdoch who looks very similar and he gets bagged!
I'm not completely sold on Ling but he looks like a typical Wells Falcons selection.

22. O'Brien
24. Taylor
35. Miers
58. Wooller
72. Sambono

I doubt obrien and wooller are still there at those picks but would be very happy with that draft.

Murdoch is a strong contested tackling player to win the ball but who has limited footy IQ to read the play and can only kick (mainly long) off one side (left foot).

Ling is a very good short and long kick off both feet who has good footy IQ to make decisions in traffic and deliver to advantage but who doesn't win a lot of his own ball or tackle very strongly.

Other than both having pace they are very different.

He has some toe and we certainly need some run and carry out of defense.
We have not seen that since the days of Wojac.

Bailey and Crowden are the little terrier nuggets that could play seniors next season. They are little pocket rockets. Both quite strong for their size. They seem to do damage when they get the ball. Both good by foot, and good awareness.

Not a real big fan of any of the outside mids this year. none are real big possession winners and very few can win their own ball.

Lot to like about Bailey. His one touch ball handling is elite. Seems smart with the footy too.

Kicking can be a bit inconsistent but his work in traffic looks really good.

He's not a defender though imo.

22 - A reach
24 - A Falcon
35 - A KPP
58 - A mature (Tim Kelly)

AFL draft is simply too random so I go by Wells typical style.

Kelly won't get past WCE's 2nd round picks IMO.

I think Worpel reminds me a bit of Neale-Bullen a few years back. Good at getting contested footy BUT, seems to just bomb it when he get's clear; that was the criticism of Neale-Bullen too; not sure if it can be corrected. I prefer Inside-Mids that tend to use a bit more time to get composed and find the best target possible.

I mean Worpel with late pick wouldn't worry me, but he is physically more developed than other mids at U18, so I wonder if his upside is a bit more limited than others.

Having said that, he is a terrific competitor, and I wouldn't have a problem with him in the hoops.

I don't rate Worpel at all and It wouldn't surprise at all If he dropped out of the top 50.

We'd have to take him at Pick 24 I'm guessing... Considering our small window, I would be strongly considering it. Unless they have a view that one of the better draftable kids is almost ready for seniors. He could fill Motlop's role easily.

He will be in our VFL system it seems if overlooked at the draft. It suggests we won't be looking at him in the draft if we are inviting him to the VFL squad.
Good because I'll reckon he'll make it.

I would not hesitate to take him late. Its the same as Miers who is slow as treacle so would not spend an early pick. Both have holes in their game.

Yep. Would love him at geelong. Reckon we will just miss out.
