A few of you guys have Tengrove...isn't he a KPP

I would hope that hine will target the best available Midfielders in this draft...a key defender would be nice but we are in dire need of pure midfielders!

Those if Trengrove is Best Avaliable at Pick 11 then you take him - Ton of Upside and Can play Back and Ruck:thumbsu:

I try not to be the grammar police Dave but the word is though.

Heres what i'd like to see:

11 - Swift (unless Zeibell or Hartlett fall)
29 - Suban (or Hill/Robinson if unavailable)
45 - Zaharakis (or Hanneberry/Banner if unavailable)
46 - Post (or Redden if unavailable)

Rookie Keefe
Rookie Reed

Be interesting to see how it all works out on draft day :thumbsu:.

this looks good like a good result.. either yours or didakas drafting would suit me fine.:thumbsu:

im very knowledgeable in drafting.. i have read the entire phantom mock draft page -oh and ive watched youtube clips too ... so im now an
expert:rolleyes:

but seriously.. i would be happy if quciky or didakas choice were close to what we draft.. seem to be good players according to alot of informed phantom drafters... (read didakas phantom draft.. good read:thumbsu:)

I played with Liam Shiels the kid is a freak and will be drafted next year.
Is he not eligible this year? His birthday is 29/04/91, which I would have thought puts him in this draft by two days...

I was going to start a thread on Shiels, because he's an interesting prospect.

He gets reasonable numbers, but even though he only squeezes into the draft by 2 days (we're talking "Ben Reid" style bottom-aged here) he's played two solid seasons of TAC Cup and has amassed tackle counts of 12 and 13 in various matches, along with being named to the Vic Metro U18 Champs team. I could certainly see potential as (at least) a tagger. Would be a very Hine pickup with #45 or #46 IMHO.

Haven't seen him play much though, does anyone follow the Eastern Ranges regularly?

I can get Video of Him:thumbsu:

I saw him against Dandenong. By memory he was solid without being overly effective. He looks ok though. Good build.

That would be freakish if we did. It could be classed as best available yet also needs.

Swift-ball winner, in and under clearance machine.
Suban-Runner off HBF (Heath Shaw & Suban)
Zaharakis - Outside winger with speed to burn and can kick a goal.
Post - Ruckman to develop to allow Bryan to be punted after 2009.

From what I've read though I doubt Suban will be there at 29 with Zaharakis more likely, but I'd still be happy with that.

I'm sure we'll take a ruck with 45 or 46.

Midfields win you flags, its as simple as that and our midfield is woeful compared to the leaders of the AFL in Hawthorn and Geelong. We must take a good midfielder with our first pick, all this best available stuff is nonsense, Geelong and Hawthorn have been picking based on needs for quite a while now and look where they are.

I'm fully against taking outside midfielders with any early picks as they are a dime a dozen and you only have to look at the top 20 mids in the comp with guys like Ablett, Judd, Bartel, Cooney, Kerr, etc to see they are all inside mids, Harvey would be the exception. The fact that O'Bree is now our best midfielder at the clearances is surely a tell tale sign we need inside mids.

Hopefully we end up taking at least 2 inside mids and at least 3 mids altogether and a KPD later in the draft.

Round 1: Sidebottom/Robinson/Swift - best available inside mid here
Round 2: Smith/Hanneberry - inside mids
Round 3: Sheahan/Shuey/Banner - mids
Round 3: Post/Redden/Milne -KPD

Liam Shiels goes for the pies. He has only been playing football for 2 or 3 years. He played soccer before that and was a very good player. I hope we have a look at him.

Post isn't a ruckman.

DTM: Thanks for putting that video up of Shiels. He shows some promise there but his kicking looks a bit suspect... I'm keeping in mind that he is so bottom-aged though. He could well be in the mix for one of our third-rounders.

I wish the club knew which players would actually fulfill their promise.
I wish the club actually drafted these players.
I wish these players actually fulfill the teams needs.

1. Swift
2. Hannebury
3. Shuey
4. Post
