Have just been watching the elimination final yet again. When Stringer is tackled by Schofield after three minutes of the first quarter, the umpire blows his whistle for a ball up while Stringer makes hand-balling motions to signify he is trying to get rid of the ball. Dennis Cometti comments on Stringer's actions by stating "Banging away like Charlie Watts".
Luke Darcy then says, "That's a couple of rolled gold chances that have gone begging."
Any Stones fans will know that Rolled Gold was the title of their 1975 Greatest Hits compilation. It makes me curious as to whether Darcy is a Stones fan who used that turn of phrase deliberately, or is this a freaky coincidence that he followed Cometti's comment immediately with random words that just happen to make another reference to the Rolling Stones?
Anybody know of Darcy's taste in music?
