I think Gladiator was one of the first movies to really nail the practical/cgi blend. There was thing from behind the scenes DVD that showed the practical sets and then overlaid the CGI and it worked really seamlessly.Still remember watching Gladiator as a kid. When they were fighting in coliseum, I just thought it looked amazing.

I watched Avatar at the cinemas twice I was that impressed with it. The first and only movie to actually nail 3d.I think Gladiator was one of the first movies to really nail the practical/cgi blend. Its obviously ALOT different but Avatar in 3D i remember walking out and being convinced that cinema would never go back to 2D.
The final tournament of Happy Gilmore was filmed at probably my favorite local course
That clubhouse reminded me of the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. It's a privately owned home that open for tours.
The Peters Sellers movie 'Being There' was filmed there, among many other films and tv shows.
Asheville is a beautiful town to visit too. You can see the Smoky Mountains in the distance.

I love any Aussie film from the 80s/90s, such as The Big Steal.
See parts of Melbourne like they were back in those days.
The Late Show is good too- filmed several of their skits on location.
I wish there were actual sites you can visit from that. Tried to find out where some of the key locations were but far too much ambiguity from the respondents to categorically go to any of them.I love any Aussie film from the 80s/90s, such as The Big Steal.

Love that movie so much.
The house from the Big Steal, 129 Albert Street, Seddon 1990
The car yard (set up in for the film in Victoria St Richmond an inner suburb of Melbourne) was so real that the crew kept receiving genuine offers from the public wishing to purchase the vehicles.
