Well I assume that all jumpers will eventually just come with the number pre-stitched on, because the supply for non-Martin Clarke jumpers will be neglible.

Yeah you can. I spotted the other day on the Collingwood online shop you can get a jumper with the number and name of any player already on it. how good is that!! Back in the day you would have to get mum to stitch it on or get the hot iron stick on ones. :)

And here's a question to really tell everyone's age ..... who owned a duffle coat? I did. :thumbsu:

as a 70's kid, no.9 for fabulous phil carman. then when he wasn't fabulous anymore, no. 30 peter moore. don't have a number now but my oldest son has just started footy and has taken no.12 for shannon cox.

Like every Collingwood fan my little brother loved Daics but seeing we were only about 5 years old, he didn't know what number the great man wore. So we looked on a footy card that was number 13 of 30. Thinking that was Daics number he got no. 13 on his back who was actually Alan Richardson.

I think he was the only Collingwood supporter with 13 on his back, I reckon other blokes must have thought that he was Richadson's son or something.:D

Long-winded random story I know, but it always made me laugh.

Got No. 13 because they were the only two numbers left when my mum bought my jumper. I even had to write to the club to find out who wore it......Doug Searle. On the up side the answer came with a page of autographs and a personal thamks from Bob Rose :thumbsu:

Who I found out later on is actually a pr** realation (Bob not Doug)

42 on my Collingwood guernsey. Haven't had a guernsey for years now though, so no number right now, and no other numbers since then.
Always played with the number 26, whether it was school footy or a club. Played for St. Kilda City for a couple of years as a kid, then went to Murrumbeena and played a few more years there up to u17's. But yeah, always wore 26, even if I'm not the Gavin Brown type player.

What was the first number you ever had on your collingwood jumper and why?

Mine was number 26 for Gavin Brown, loved watching how he played, hard as at it, good skill, epitamised collingwood

Same for me. Whenever you see him run of the coaches box these day's, I still think he could throw the boots on and get out there! He's a star!

Number 6 Peter McKenna

I'm pretty sure that any kid who was born in the 60's and followed the Pies had a 6 sewn on their backs at some stage of their life.
