I do a fair bit already but still have gaps.

Work. Just finished 6 month contract of 4 shifts a week changing to 7 a ftn but can do overtime.

Church once a week.
Dinner group once a month.
Coffee group once a month.
Soul sisters which is like a women only catch up once a month.
I lead out a women’s group once a ftn.
Go to a mixed group the other week.

And then just do other stuff randomly. Go out with the work girls occasionally.
If you were in America with all your groups they'd assume you were in therapy of some sort.

No live sport to stream in the late afternoon weekdays.

I guess that's more of a parts-of-Australia problem.

Falling asleep in front of the TV.

Really wanted to watch Catching Milat last night.

Made it till 10pm ok, saw Milat take his famous photos with his guns... saw the cops set up their major investigative op.... saw Milat kill a few ppl.... saw Paul Onions get away (god he was lucky af)- then theres a massive blank and i woke up and they had surrounded his house and arrested him. :$

This guy was lucky too:
The actor, who plays the serial killer Ivan Milat (Malcolm Kennard) has revealed he had been hitchhiking along the Hume Highway in the late 1980s and early 90s when Milat murdered seven backpackers and is suspected of killing more.

I hitch-hiked at the time (but south) with a mate and got picked up by 2 guy with lots of guns that seemed a bit scary.(a lot really)
When he was arrested (years later) my mate rang up and said does this guy look familiar ???
Obviously we are still alive, might have been a doppelganger, a good day or a coincidence ????

Interesting.

Very interesting.

Can you recall the circumstances? ie. why they may have let you go if it had been them.

Would have been somewhere between 83 and 86 ??
Said they could drop us off in the middle of nowhere or we could wait for them for a while while they did something at a mates place ???
We said we would wait
They took us to a farm with a tin shed (that was the house) in the middle of nowhere.
We got out and hung around, while they went inside(it seemed like ages 30/60 minutes) they came out and we got back in for the rest of the trip.
They then drop us off.
Conversation was them joking about guns and asking if we were backpackers or students.
Might have just been random hillbillys that looked similar ???????
The area was south NSW not north

  1. Having to do errands on a Saturday morning before midday closing
  2. Having it rain on said Saturday morning
  3. Having your umbrella pinch the webbing between your thumb and forefinger, taking out a chunk
  4. Having your brolly wound bleed without you noticing until you get home and notice blood on your groceries.
  5. Boring the crap out of people on SM with your banality.

There's your answer right there. (Unless it really wasnt him/them). He obviously targeted international backpackers that are harder to trace/track down. Or be missed until weeks later.

And this was before the internet/social media. Im assuming people going "non contact" back then wouldnt have been THAT unusual.

Get a crowy umbrella and you would not have this problem.
