Seems like there are plenty of posters here who play footy themselves. I'd like to know who you play for & how your team's going so far this season (number of wins, ladder position)?

I play for the Melton South Panthers!

Round 1 - Melton 142 - 2 Melton South
Round 2 - BYE
Round 3 - Ruppertswood 200 - 21 Melton South

Round 2 - Ruppertswood beat Melton by 140 points!

This week my team is at home to Sunbury, who are doing OK!
However due to my cold, I wont be playing footy :( Nor can I go to see my Bulldogs play

Dont play for them anymore, but Hoppers seniors are doing pretty well. I think they just knocked off last years premiers. Dont know where we are on the ladder, but most likely in the top 4 with some of the talent we've got.

If you dont know about Hoppers, we have a bit of the Geelong syndrome, keep making the finals and grand finals but cant win em. :D

I play for the most feared country football team in Victoria the mighty Sunbury Lions.I have dislocated my knee a few times so I am not playing just at the moment but will probably get back into it in around 2 months or so.A few things about the club are it is the club that Dean Lupson took to 4 consecutive premierships in the ballarat league.Lupson made a name for himself via clobbering his opponents. He missed all 4 grand finals through suspension.Other nut cases to play for them to give them there feared reputation are the Tarczon brothers and the Powers. They are currently sitting second or third at the moment after a close loss to arch rivals Darley last week on the back of a 9 goal haul from Keenan Reynolds. Some players we have produced are Mark Johnson,David Johnson,James Kelly,David Scwarze,Peter Berbakov,Andrew Welsh and others. They were very close to being entered into the vfl before the decision to scrap the afl reserves and put afl sides in the vfl.The main thing I like about them is that they mainly use there own talent rather than poaching players. Most of the side came up through Sunbury juniors.

Well I don't play footy myself, of course, but I still have a local club which I play netball for, which of course has a footy side. We're the Woorndoo-Mortlake Tigers, in the Mininera and District Football League and Netball Association. Last year we were absolutely demolished every round...like absolutely flogged, except for our two wins which were against teams which were somehow, unbelievably, worse than us. Anyway, this year, we have a whole new team, new coaches, new team rules, the lot. Currently sitting third with a 4-0 record, with a percentage of 220.66. Won the first three by about 50+ points, and this week had a close one, winning by about 8 points in the end.

1998 - Woorndoo were represented in the Mininera And District Football League.
1999 - Woorndoo were represented in the Mininera And District Football League.

Mininera FL 9 April 2000 : Woorndoo lost to Lismore-Derrinallum by 40 points.
Mininera FL 23 July 2000 : Wickcliffe-Lake Bolac 97-point victors over Woorndoo.

This was a bit of a coinkidink, as I was commenting on another thread about this league, over on the Regional Leagues board, about Moyston-Willaura (which is in the same league).
