Essendon supporters are out of this one, because their list would never end.

What game(s) were your best highlights for 2000.

I've got 3.

1. Round 12 v Collingwood - Geelong had 1 goal midway through the third quarter and the smart-arse Collingwood supporter next to me told me to go home, because there was no-way Geelong could win this one. I've never enjoyed a 4pt victory so much.

2. Round 18 v Adelaide - After being humiliated by StKilda the previous week, it was great to see us get up over Garry Ayres at Kardinia Park by 7pts after the last quarter went 37 minutes.

3. Round 22 v Sydney - All of it except the last 12 seconds. Possibly the worst moment of the year, but everything worked out alright in the end.

Thats easy

Ill set the scene

It was the second derby of 2000, most violent game of the year, dockers home game

Kicket done a costa Tyze, 2 young guns went at it before the bounce. Its world war 3 and fights break out in the crowd. The atmosphere is electric.Collingwood passion is nothin compared to this

But alas dockers copping a beating, the only shinning light is waterhouse
Directly in front of me
3rd quater and mitchelle white is the eagles key.He is running for the ball, oposite him 1o meters away is cookie.Realising his opportunity as the dockers hardman, he in arguably the best hip and shoulder of the game drops white, he is out cold.
In one split second the game turns.
The werstern Australian grand final is decided and bragging rights for the year handed out
VICTORY IS OURS

Forget the grandfinal
this was the game of the year
Most fights (on and off the field)
Most passion

AWESOME

Collingwood V Carlton ROUND 3- 73 points in case everyone forgot...

and our first two halfs againt essendon- leading by two goals and three goals respectively, just couldnt finish them off...

oh and when we beat the oranges...

Rd 3 Vs Carlton : Its great beating the old enemy, but when you belt them by 73pts the feeling is unbelieveable.

Rd 4 Vs Sydney : The mighty black and white army kick some arse in Sin City. I don't know which was better Rocca's goal or seeing that fat pig Tony Lockett almost crying shortly after the siren had sounded. Maybe the 18th I attended after the game still wearing the colours, you just got to party extra hard after a great win.

Rd 5 Vs Western Welfare : Whoa!...Finally a real team shows up at Colonial and gets a crowd. The Rocca bump on Piss and Wind(Scott Wynd) was absolutely breathtaking, truly my highlight of the season. Also it was great how we got their hopes up and than put Fartscray where they belong.

Rd 21 Vs North Sydney : It was absolutely brilliant what we did to those orange cladded pricks. I nearly smashed my T.V in the first quater when Queen Carey had a go at Bucks before quickly retreating. However Its going to be remembered as the game Nick Davis stepped up to the next level and theres no douht he will be a superstar of the future.

Bring on 2001!!!

Melbourne's come from behind victory against Carlton in the first week of the finals. I will never forget that. Another highlight was finally beating Geelong after 6 years when the Olympic torch came to the MCG.

Well guys & girls, I actually have two favourite moments.

1. Would have to be Round 1 at the MCG against Hawthorn when I was there to see Damien Adkins debut and kick a sensational goal with his first kick in AFL... It was a sequence of play that I will never forget... As hot as it was that day I stood up and went absolutely *******!!

2. Round 3 at the MCG again!! When we just totally pumped Carlton...There is nothing better then beating Carlton and it was great to be there and see some of my Carlton supporter friends leaving at half time... What a low act... And to top that great day off (yes it gets better) Damien Adkins stared again for the almighty pies and recieved the nomination for the Norwich Rising Star....

Well there were several other great highlights for me in 2000 but those were just unforgettable!!!

Go The Mighty Magpies!!!!!
Magpies Premiers 2001!!!!!

Highlights:

North vs Geelong (round 6?)...great game, great finish, Leigh Colbert's goals, and cheering him on whilst surrounded by frothy mouthed Cats fans!

North vs Eagles (in Perth)....did it for Ron Casey and probably our only 4 quarter performance for the year. Arch's match report was a bonus!

St. Kilda vs Sydney (Colonial)...first time I went to Colonial, Saints were hot favourites to win....Schwatter's running goal....listening to "cheer cheer the red and the white" after the game....great running game by the Swans.

Essendon vs Carlton (MCG)...brave performance from a Carlton side that lost Kouta and Bradley, but in awe of Essendon's class.

My highlights from 2000,

1) Recruiting Malcolm Blight and players of the calibre of Aaron Hamill, Fraser Gehrig and Steve Lawrence

2) The 20 minute mark of the last quarter at our games against Port Adelaide and Geelong. When you have the kind of year that we had, the time when you know the match is over is a moment to savour. TO be able to sing the theme song and enjoy the victory was something that we got to experience twice this year.

OOOOOO *sob*
Would you like a tissue.
Sure you beat us convincingly by 117.But considering half our team was out thats no big acomplishment
But when we were full strength and so were you well, its history aint it

So I agree I wont harp on the glorious victory and brilliant bump

Lets look to the future, sorry thats right
Eagles dont have one
Dont worry no one will think any worse of you if you switch sides.

Night game against Roos in the first half of the season. I know they were weakened but to have my MONSTAA Thompson go sick in the last was a buzz.

The last few games all gave a buzz except for the fact they were all at %#@*/ing Colonical. The Doggies as nobody gave us a chance after they had knocked of the Bombers the week before in the last round. The first finals against the Cats, always feel confident against them and to see a winning Hawks finals team since (well lets just say it was a while)

Even the loss to North in the semis was pleasing in that they showed they were hurting and that we CAN go on to bigger and better things next year.

Others were Jades weekly speccie, the evoloution of Hay into a very special player and the continued improvment in the Hawks finacial situation. Hey were we were at in 96 im very happy to be posting a $700,000 profit in 2000.

Cheers

1) Round 14 v Essendon

Matthew Nicks delivers the perfect shirtfront to Damien Hardwick in the Paddington End goalsquare. Poor Damien - such a tough guy - except he was so completely polaxed he just dropped the ball and Michael O'loughlin soccered it through for a great opportunists goal.

2) Round 20 v North Melbourne

Robbie Ahmat carries the ball the length of the field and slots through a great running goal from forward pocket boundary line.

3) Round 18 v West Coast Eagles

We completely towel them by 75 points to complete a rare double over the Eagles.

4) Round 15 v Fremantle

Paul Kelly makes a dramatic and unexpected comeback, kicks a goal with his first kick and later takes an absolute screamer of a mark.

5) Round 20 v Collingwood

Kelly does it again, another sensational mark.

6) Round 1 v Saint Kilda

Went in as underdogs, but ran them off their feet with O'Loughlin getting five and Schauble tagging Everitt out of the game.

Grendel.

1. Don't forget that goal by Chick against the crows - showed the camry's were just making an appearance

2. Croady v 2 collingwood players in the hawks back pocket. Neatly avoided Pebbles Rocca who ended up shirtfronting his own player - no other players within 30m. Oh and collingwood fans bagging their players on the PA at half time - what about support ?

3. Eagles being fleeced in the ansett cup

Lowlights

1. Not being able to get into the Essendon v Hawks game due to 'sellout' - sild out by Essendon and the AFL more like.

2. Despite an honourable effort in the second week of finals - being the only team other than St Kilda to be beaten by the kangaroos in their last ten games

Every time Daniel Chick went near the ball.

Ian Dicker showing what frauds "personality" Presidents really are.

Pess please elaberate on the Pies bagging their players over the PA. This from the greatest club in the universe

.

BSA that Nicks shirtfront was shown for a long time on the AFL site in the Bomber multimedia section. I got caught out because it said it was a goal from Mercuri or someone. I downloaded it and got the bloody Swans highlight, was not happy

. Great shirtfront though, I thought we were goners until Hirdy pulled us out of the fire.

Shinners you'll be honoured to know (well maybe) that the Qualifying final was my Highlight. Football perfection against the reigning premier, superb.

Cheers.

RED & BLACK BACK to BACK 2001!

Sandie - you're at the wrong end of the ladder to be critical of Alf's wish to end the season. I couldn't wait for it to be over either. Alf provided great amusement over at Nick's with his countdown to the end of the season: sort of like a Euthanasia advocate waiting to pull the plug.

AS for highlights, there were 2 for me, but they are so far outweighed by the negativeds that I can only give brief commentary:

COLL v SYD (SCG) - that Ant Rocca roost to win the game was MAGIC. Even my subdued partner gave a yell when it went through.

COLL v SCRAGGERS (RD 5) - the come from behind win that we had to have.

Pity the rest of the season was almost the same: having to come from behind (we just never quite made it...except against the orangeroos...Nick Davis, you legend)

Round 6... first to beat the pies

The win over Hawthorn in the finals... a weak club would have thrown the towel in after the Essendon slaughter...

The improvement of Lange Motlop Clayton and Makepeace

Hey thats funny Ricey

I guess quite a rew Bomber people got a bit of a shock, I mean you go to your AFL.com.au club site and see some video marked "Mark Mercuri goal' - only to find that its actually Hardwick getting crunched - LOL

The same bit of footage was on the Swans club page too - i looked at it many, many times I can assure you.

You guys definitely played the "Get Out Of Jail Card" that day, buts really it was our silly fault. After looking like winners all day we decided (for some strange reason) to leave Hird un-checked in the goalsquare

GRRRRRRR !!!!!
