maybe because we have **** all talls and need all the half decent big blokes we can get

schulz and hughes have massive question marks and i feel someone like robbie will give them more of a kick up the arse then kingsley could ever do

if gourdis slips id have him at 18 but i doubt it, tarrant is the next best imo

burgoynes ****head!

Tayte Pears>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>etc. >Tarrant

I'd rather take a big backman in pears than a spud big forward in Tarrant. He'd be our next Schulz.

Now we've picked Gus as a senior player I reckon we'll just simply rookie another ruckman.

i rate pears but i just think he is another chb type like thursty

tarrant is a big unit with very good pace and endurance who can be the power forward or could be an option down the track in the backline

if we still had pick 19 we could have got both:rolleyes:

TIGERBOB'S Ideal Draft.

National Draft

2. Trent Cotchin (MIDFIELDER)

Will develop into a Key midfielder for us, has the class of Ablett and Deledio, moves extremely well and his delivery by foot is elite on either foot. Adding a guy like Cotchin with the young midfield we have will be a key for the Richmond Football Club.

18.Tate Pears (KEY DEFENDER)

Have tossed about this pick but have decided he would be the one to help our defensive stocks out. We need it with only Thursfield as the young Key Defender I have confidence in long term.

51. Dan McKenna (KEY DEFENDER/KEY FORWARD)

Another Key Defender for us who I think will be a fantastic talent. Adds more depth to our KP stocks. Extremely versatile and smart, if we get him here will be an absolute bargain.

67. Clayton Collard (SMALL FORWARD/MIDFIELD)

Really hope he lasts, exceptional talent that if we get his head right will be an enourmous small forward for us. Has class and skill and poise, would be a bargain at this pick, straight in the team for round one.

PSD

1. Ben Cousins (MIDFIELDER)

At this draft the talent levels are so low that when a player of the standard of Ben comes around, you dont flinch. Is easily in the top 5 best players in the competition. Adding Ben Cousins to our midfield will be huge. Already Foley, Deledio, Tambling, Coughlan, Tuck, Polo walk taller. I would be over the moon if this was to happen.

Rookie Draft

1. Darren Pfeiffer (MIDFIELDER)

Another quality player with some issues, but in this draft to get him at the rookie draft stage is too good to pass. A quality player with some attitude problems, getting him out of his home state and away from his mates would be ideal. Adds class to our running brigade. Will dominate at Coburg.

17. Jake Spencer (RUCKMAN)

A Ruckman (200+cm) and a developing one too, have seen him twice and both times impressed me with his smarts around a contest, his tapwork, and his motor. Will need plenty of development put into him, but having said that it is the draft to do this. We need to grab two Ruckman in the rookie draft, he would be my first.

33. Lachlan McKinnon (RUCKMAN)

At 205cm and over 100kg's the Coburg boy is back. Is experienced for a rookie player but has had major injury issues, if we get that right he will be a fantastic proposition for us. Get him home to Coburg, get him fit and healthy and happy and hopefully things will take its course.

49. Matt Deledio (INSIDE MID)

Sounds like a total family reason here but Matt can actually play. Tough and hard and good footy nous, is a natural footballer that will always give his all. With plenty of similar types here, decided to keep big brother happy and have a positive influence around Brett also. Watching Matt closely it would not suprise me if he was actually drafted in the main draft.

..........................................

That would be a fantastic outcome for the footy club. I think we made a major mistake by not getting another pick in between 18 and 51 but we will see what happens.

Some risks in there but they all have major talent and from what I can see, we have good quality individuals at our club and will be able to put them straight.

We would need to delist another player and get Cameron Howat off the rookie list which is fine by me.

would certainly be pretty happy with all that, dunno how i feel about being the club that rescues attitude problems, but i guess unfortunately thats the role of the bottom dwellers.

would be pretty happy with that with the exception of collard. Dont like his attitude and for a top 20-30 pick in last years superdraft he must have done alot of things wrong to b delisted in his 1st year.

Nation Draft
Pick #2 - Cale Morton - HBF/HFF/Wing - Future CHB/CHF option
Pick #18 - Tayte Pears - CHB/HBF
Pick #51 - Dan McKenna - FB
Pick #67 - Clayton Collar - Midfield/Foward

PSD
#1 Darren Pfieffer - Mid/HBF
#2 Guy Richards or a 22-24 y.o Ruckman from the VFL, SANFL etc. - Ruck

Rookie
Alistar Neville - Mid
Nick Carnell - Mid
???

This of course won't happen as I only expect we will pick up 3 players in the National Draft and 1 in the PSD

All I know is that we have to take some Key Position Players with picks 18 and 51 (67) unless a gun midfielder slides

We should also look for another big full foward option to replace Richo because Schultz is really not gonna do that job

Masten. Tigers to play it safe here after criticism previous years for taking speculative types early. Masten is a true mid that's a virtual guarantee to make it, unlike the skilful but outside guys in Cotchin & Morton.

Tarrant. There will be a big hole to fill when Richo retires, and i cant see Schulz(uncompetitive), Reiwolt(3rd Tall), Hughes(uncommitted) or Pattison(slow) filling it. Enter Tarrant as the big target at FF.

Smouha. The tall & athletic key defender we need. Wont be a ruck at AFL level, so KPD is his go. Still learning, but has the height & endurance to keep his opponent quiet, and other skills aren't as important in such a role.

Best Ruck Available.

PSD: Cousins. Slot straight in as our best mid. Proven talent who will provide two years min service and make our youngsters earn selection. Precautions will be put in place to ensure his third chance is worth it.
