Can also be others things that live in the water.

Last fish I caught, a flatty about 65cm in Port Phillip Bay (and yes that was my 7am beer bottom left):

Nice one! Solid flatty, 65cm is a ripper! Port Phillip never disappoints, love the 7 am beer touch too, classic session.

Just spent the last ten days fishing in and around Port Hedland where i grew up (missed the glorious dry season weather). I have pics but nothing special...fishing was ok, a lot better when i was up there last a few years ago for precisely zero fish. Caught my first ever shark mackerel and a couple of fat barracudas over on Finucane Island and plagued by yellow fin bream (couple of decent sizes) everywhere.

Last day was interesting down in the harbour, 30 minutes before high tide in gloriously glassy conditions when the bait fish moved in around the public jetty and some of the biggest queenies and golden trevallies I've seen there stalked my twisties but refused to gobble them up. Of course a couple of guys fishing on the lower platform landed golden trevallies with their first cast on filthy chunks of prawn :D.

Just the way it goes I guess!

Last 3 times I've been out at Beaumaris/Black Rock, nothing but undersized pinkies.

Have had more luck in Western port with some good sized salmon which will come in handy for baits.

Come on could have taken credit for it lol. Nice work
I don’t think I could pass off his body type 🤣
But fwiw I have caught lovely Murray Cod like that too when we go fishing, it’s not easy but every few years I get one. I don’t go as often as I used to tho, my bro in law is a fishing maniac, it’s literally his greatest love…any kind river, lake or ocean. He and his best mate have been fishing together since they were kids.

Caught a nice 2.9kg Snapper off Beaumaris last Friday, but the season has been really slow for most that I’ve spoken to and the wind just won’t **** off.

Fished Denmark for the first time, out at Peaceful Bay last week...it lives up to its name and awesomely its a beach i will not get bogged in with my Navarra, its that firm lol.

Got a couple of King George whiting (first ever) just casting out by the reef. Tried again the next day for a handful of hezza's and a sand whiting. No KG's but hooked onto a whopper of an eagle ray that took off and decided to leap clear of the water a few times (never seen that before). Managed to stop it screaming up the beach towards other anglers and landed it after fifteen minutes before sending it on its way. Hate catching the things but a by product when your bait mooches the bottom sometimes.

I hooked a good sized Eagle Ray on my kayak out on Western Port bay a couple of months ago, and it jumped out a couple of times, while towing me about 😂
