96. Shattered.

Front 9'was a blow out. First 5 holes and I had a 10 (can't remember the last time I got one :( )

But from the 6th onwards hit 61 and played some good golf. Birdie, 5 or 6 pars and some consistent golf. Was happy with how i ended.

Side note 85 year old grandad still has a handicap of mid 20s Hit them very nicely.

Played Queenscliff on Sunday and then again on Monday.

FWIW, great course, but the Kangaroos have ripped the hell out of the greens.

Sunday: Terrible round overall. Shot 136 (70 front 9, 66 back 9). Three putted pretty much every hole. Could even bogey a par three (one being about 110m).

Monday: Much improved round. Shot 116. Pretty much 2 putted everything. Was a lot happier to shave 20 shots in one round.

Got Friday off so will be heading to Curlewis for a round. Looking forward to it. :thumbsu:

your daily rounds at the national are surely improving your game to sub 100? what is the range you usually hit them at?

nah Don (can i call you don?)

prob with stroke down there is that after a 10 i usually pick up. just so depressing and aside form being out of the comp, lots of lost balls and a degradation in confidence.

stableford is much more my thing.

if i extrapolate my scores, id be between 105-120. but with my high handicap (30) i can win comps with it.

if i played one course at the Nat every week yes id be scoring closer to 100, but i mix em up. just such a prick of a place to play (scoring wise).

I played my local course Horton park in Maroochydore and shot 69 -3 on Wednesday. 7 birdies, 4 bogeys:eek:

good round brah. what do you play off?

stableford (:thumbsd:) today.

started bogey, bogey (6 putts in 2 holes).

came back strong on the 3rd and 4th with a pair of birds. finished the front nine with 19 points.

Back nine was pars up until my back started cracking the shits due to a gym session the previous day. Drives started getting sprayed out to the right. scrambled well and managed 18 points.

result: 37 points and got my handicap cut down to 7 :thumbsu:

Yeah that sounded like a pretty solid round!! I go to gym a bit too and it can affect your golf game no doubt.. I never go the night or day before playing..

Yeah. Thanks for that members!! We think it's a great members course and I play every Wednesday in members comps and try to get out on a sundaycomp if possible!

I play off + 3..

Yeah it probably wasn't the smartest thing to do. It was only a stableford though.

You play once, maybe twice a week and play off +3?

That's impressive

Thanks mate I am an ex tour pro and I got my amateur status back around 5 years ago..
I love my golf now but didn't like it at all when I was playing for money:thumbsu:

Played my second proper game today at a local course of mine (Riverside Public Course). First hole I shot a bogey which I was stoaked with, then followed up with two double bogeys off the next two holes which I was fine with.
I stuffed up the first par 3 with a bad chip shot onto the green and then 3 putted so ended up with a double bogey.
On the fifth hole (Par 5) I could not hit the ball properly to save myself (always topping the ball so it would only bounce heavily) then ruined the green by 4 putting. 13 strokes on the par 5 :(
Same deal on the sixth hole (Par 4) by not being able to get any real distance on the ball and ruining the putting so ended up with 10 strokes :( :(
The last two holes weren't too bad by my standards with triple bogeys on the 7th and 8th and then stuffed up the 9th with terrible putting so ended up with 69 strokes off 9.
Disappointed in myself but I guess I can only improve after that so staying optimistic.

Don't worry about it mate, we've all had days like that, it's part of what makes it such a great game. Keep your chin up, and go again :):thumbsu:

Exactly right, I have fun playing regardless of what score I shoot so looking forward to playing next week. Hopefully I will put on a better performance than this week!
