sure will. flag half mast.

so what now? you replace him?
I doubt it, not sure I would even want to given the circumstances. He was due to play in the final next Saturday (monthly medal today).

Anyway on to today's golf, was out on the course last night and it hasn't taken much time for the course to start greening up after summer. Hopefully doesn't take long to adjust to the changing conditions. Just another challenge of playing at a small country club!

Thought I was a chance today, then Dean Jones turns up. Still happy beating my handicap and finishing third.

Missed a sitter putt on the second. Almost a replica from last weeks 18th and all i could think of is my old mate sitting up there laughing at me for making the same mistake.

Played St Andrews beach this morning.. TINY greens wow!! great layout! not one bland hole out there!

Didn't play great it's fair to say I have had a rather large weekend so I struggled a little bit to know where it was going and on a course that I had never seen before it was tricky!

Super track though quite wide off the tee, it is all about precise iron play to those little postage stamp greens. 16th a great example 197m today off the blue tees... the green is outlined in blue, I am telling you with a 4 iron in hand I would need a bucket of range balls to hit this green!!

How'd you go on the long par4
13th or 14th

440metre par 4 with the two giant hitting stakes as guides?

wish i knew that! god so frustrating. sandy and dumpy as. played like shit, first time, but couldnt hit anything. duff shots off the tee. couldnt putt with any confidence
Sorry mate, if I had seen your post earlier I could have given you the heads up, I was supposed to play on Sunday but bailed out when I found out they were cored and sanded only last Tues. How about the rest of the track though.... I think the front nine at Metro is the best 9 holes in Australia.

my mind is cloudy right now about the experience. firstly, it was freezing cold (coming from someone who plays at national lol), dewy. secondly we teed off on the 10th, so my bearings are stuffed. lol lol. the whole course IMO is fantastic. fairways are so nice.

greens? i can tell that they would be true. blokes played with yesterday say theyre better than national, which says something. very pleased with the day, despite my poo play.

nah, i only updated here yesterday morning just before leaving for the course. so no apologies needed.

Trying to play my cards right to get my employer to shell out the yearly subs at Metro.. then I just have to scrape together the 14k joining...

Played at my home course, City Golf Club Toowoomba, today. Slope was 130 and I played off 15. Got 36pts in a stab with three close washes.
More importantly my cousin and I won the matchplay we play being us (Lebanon) against two mates who are Australia. :thumbsu:
The free rump steak, chips and salad meal went down a treat for winning.

What's Royal Melbourne vs Kingston Heath vs Victoria vs Metro joining fee/yearly fee wise?

I know some of them don't advertise.

good question. i remember asking at KH earlier this year but forgot.
My house backs onto Royal Melbourne, and I'm around the corner from Victoria.

I need to gauge the viability of joining one of them, or just go with Commonwealth, Woodlands etc. Yarra Yarra would be another possiblity.
