Playing alongside the boy on his practice round at Elyria Country Club (outside Cleveland) on Saturday morning ahead of his tourney Sunday. I think he should be giving his old man some strokes but he refuses.....lil' stinker.

A glorious day at The National Golf Club. The Moonah course resplendent as always. Shame the golf was not. fockers in front of us in carts as slow as you like. they'd drive to their ball, drive further up, come back and hit. Worst part was on a par 4 one of the carts drove upto the green, bloke hopped out jogged to the toilet some 50m back onto the fairway. After the business he went back to the green where upon he decided to have a putt. My group were fuming. THey were so inefficient (which IMO cart golf is). Simple things to keep up the pace such as carrying an array of clubs to your ball (instead of going back and forth to the cart), not doing what i described toilet break wise, not driving up for a look see, coming back to the ball and then playing it. FFS!!! Shit like this that makes you wait ruins it. Then it banks up behind you.

Shithouse 27 points I think. Lost it on the 16th where i piffed my 7 iron and it duly snapped.

Played at Heathcote today (my club still closed, hopefully back next weekend). 37 points. Windy and got sunburnt but thats the first time I've played to my handicap in months. Great bunch of blokes to play with too.

Wiped the 18th though (only wipe of the day) and that stings.

34 points around Moonah Legends

toooo many putts

drove it best i have in years, longggg and straight, just couldnt make a bloody putt
I am hearing you. I had 34pts on my home patch this morning. It felt like every putt just missed or lipped the hole. It was good not to wash a hole though or go 20 shots over hcp like my last 2 unexplained meltdowns you could call a round.

Did u like the course?
Yeah pretty good. Had the course to ourselves just about, although I'm not surprised as I've heard they are struggling for members.

Brutal course in windy conditions like it was today. If you play smart and avoid fairway bunkers it wouldn't be too challenging but if you miss the fairway the rough can be thick and it's very easy to lose balls!

I knew it was going to be a long day when my second shot on the first had one bounce off the green and never to be seen again!

If you fella's will indulge me, my son got an invite to the kids Australian Open being played January 19-20, 2017 in Sydney.

He finished second in his age group in Cleveland this fall (our fall) and received the invite today.

We won't be able to make it this year, but hopefully in next couple years.

Just thought it was really pretty cool.

Awesome work

Personal questions

What does he play off? Age group?

Why can't he come?

They set yardages for each age level. His age level 8/9 plays a total of 1900 yards for 9 holes.

Roughly 220-235 for par 4's
Roughly 290-330 for par 5's
Roughly 90-110 for par 3's

Cost prohibitive at this juncture unfortunately. Plus, I kinda want to wait until he plays 18 to do a trip like that. At least that's what I am thinking.
