I've got a pair of Puma Ignite golf shoes. They look/feel like sports shoes but have some added support and the soft sole moulds for the golf course grip. They are super comfy and I could walk 100 holes a day in them. They also have that weatherproof wrapping thing above the sole so even in deep mud my socks never get wet.

Runners are fine when its dry but in winter walking and hitting from the slush and mud some runners are a little too slick underneath and you'd risk slipping. That's where the golf specific shoes come in handy.

Shot 125 today, played best I have. Got my first par on a par 4.

26 Stableford points.

will play another 9 tomorrow unless I can convince my partner to go full 18

Got on top of managing holes better today. Usually if I have a bad drive I go on to take 10. Learnt more to instead of trying to play a normal shot from the trees to just get the ball back to the fairway and reset

Can someone that is still actually allowed to play golf please post something about their latest round?...Getting a bit stir crazy locked up and hearing about people going about normal things helps a bit.
I feel sorry for you fellas down South. Played yesterday in a 4BBB Aggregate Stableford. I had 31 points and my partner had 25 (56 points). It was a campaigner of a day for golf. Cold and 50km/hr Westerly's. The first hole we both wiped. That cost us a rundown prize. My partner 4 putted it while I smashed a great drive into the wind. It’s a pity my second shot in the wind from 148m was so shit. I tried to hit a low draw and opened up. The ball hit a bank on the other side of water and rolled back down the hill into the piss.
My mate was hitting some cracking shots except every time he had to make sure he missed a narrow branch at a certain height or something similar he’d hit the obstacle dead center. 😂

This week will likely be called the festival of golf. My best mate has the week off and I’m planning to play these upcoming days:
Tuesday: 2 person Ambrose at City Golf Club
Wednesday: Stableford at City Golf Club
Thursday: Stableford at Lowood Golf Club
Friday: Single Stroke Black Marker at Middle Ridge Golf Club
Saturday: Stableford at City Golf Club

It’ll be an interesting week as I have to achieve this without pissing off the wife. I can see Saturday not happening.

brilliant.

My mrs works shifts Wednesday through to Sunday, so I’m getting away with two rounds a weekend scot free. Especially if she’s on nights and going to bed right as I’m getting ready.

No kids at this point who would complicate things

Mate that is legendary!!! DO IT IF NOT FOR YOURSELF, FOR US!!!!

I think I've done 4 days in a row over xmas/NY at National, a long time ago.

26 points today. Blowing a gale, didn't hit a single green. 1 par on a par 3.

Made a few bad decisions, trying to loft shots that really i should have just hit low punches and let it run up. Greens were suuuper hard and fast also.

Biggest area for improvement is short game, lots of 2 putts where i left myself long putts from bad chips

I've got the Puma's for dry, standard golf shoes it's wet underfoot and then the highcut Puma's if I'm playing in rain.
The Ignites are super comfy.

Played my first match of foursomes yesterday. 36 holes. 1st 18 was the daily comp. Never played the format before and met my partner on Friday for the 1st time.
Had a really solid 1st 18, came in at lunch as the Nett leaders. I think foursomes tests your concentration as much as anything. My 1st approach shot was on the 8th hole!
2nd 18 not as solid so we didn't challenge for the cup. Still in the lead on the daily comp when we came in only to go down to 2x 20+ handicappers who pipped us by 0.5 strokes😠 at 4pm.

I played every day of the week once except for Monday. Six days in a row. I was in my late 20’s and every day there was a comp except for the Monday. Being at least 15 years older now I’ll need a Physio by the end of it.

Finished par, 3 putt bogey, par, par for 90. A couple triples killed the score.
For the first time this winter my home course was very soggy. Would hate to think what some of the courses people have mentioned as soggy previously are like now

Played 18 holes at TPC Sawgrass.
That's right I got PGA 2K21 on day one.

any good?

did get a chuckle out of the trailer

I have deliberately not picked up a club since lockdown, largely to rest some elbow tendonitis but also because I needed a refresh and to start again in some areas. Will be very interesting what the swing looks like whenever we can get back on course in Melbourne.

At least the weather has been awful so haven't thought about it too much, when it's 21 degrees and sunny on Saturday like the forecast says then I'll be feeling it.
