Actually felt solid all round, just couldnt get irons to hold or release onto greens

First time playing Woodford, four pars and 28 points on the front 9, finished with a Birdie (my 2nd ever) for a total of 49.

Still did some stupid errors like getting to wedge range on a par 5 with my second shot and then duffing the wedge into the water 45° from my line 🥴

Fantastic course
How do you get 28 points in 9 holes?? 8x3points and 1x4point?

Got my tyres blown up today. Played with a woman playing her 6th round. Handicap of 54!! Didn't know it went do high. Her husband was caddy. Anyway, I proceed to stipe everything. Finish 1 over. The two of them were amazed. She asked how many tournaments I'd won! I said none. Hit one poor shot, 1st tee shot. They thought I was Greg Norman. A NW wind, rare for us. Was over the back in 2 on our 490m 9th. Smashed it.

30 points on Saturday off 22.

started abysmally, 3 points after 4 holes or something like that, recovered to 15 on the back, then had a par on the first where I get two shots so I was 19 after 10 holes and actually a chance of doing something. Two wipes from there and a lipped out putt from - get this - six inches, cost me any chance of a decent score

Tough luck. One way to improve 1/2 a shot per round is to treat every putt equally and make sure of it. Not saying you did.

I really don’t know what happened. I didn’t sort of reach past the flag and try to knock it in or anything it was just bizarre.

I actually felt like I played quite well, that was my only three putt from memory and I chipped quite well.

I had a cracking round yesterday. Of about 50 chips from 7m I landed 10 in the chipping net.

In the process of renovating the backyard lawn, so the rough is THICK (Winged foot thick).

Putting has gone downhill. Mrs has cracked them and I can’t have the mat set up inside while renovating.

Off the tee I have been good, with two phones videoing my swing to over analyse everything for when I am able to get back out on the actual course. Camera 1 (down the line) is picking up a weak lead wrist and camera 2 (side on) too much lag (if possible).

Have a stroke comp tomorrow so played a social game today, albeit at a different course.

two hail storms, on and off driving rain. 130 strokes which I have little doubt I’ll greatly improve on (no rain predicted tomorrow).

score hurt by a 10 and an 11 on the front 9 (71 going out).

Rumours abound of a return to golf as early as next week.
You would think the rumours might have some substance. I would imagine that greenkeepers would receive the heads up to get courses up to standard for the return and this information would filter out.

Now the shit fight will begin to get tee times.

Thats the thing though, if say golf opens on Monday it gives little or no time for clubs to mobilise their staff, ergo thinking more weds opening

Thought I’d do a toxic today.

1st (par 4) - driver, 3 wood (out the back of the green, oops) pitching wedge (just on) putt (8 foot, perhaps lucky).

got too hard after that. Filthy. Shot 130 (after thinking I’d improve greatly from yesterday when I shot the same). Had a blow up 12 and 13 (three OOB across those two holes) on the back 9 and putting went to shit. Worked out to 20 stableford points so not even that helped.

enjoyed the game but frustrated all the same

Just complete crap decision with no logic at all
Golf is the easiest sport to start back as well. 1 at a time in the pro shop or online bookings only, 1 to a cart, cups upside down. E Z social distancing.

You only have to touch your own equipment, no shared balls or anything

I think they still want people staying as close to home as possible (in that 5 km radius)...that is the only reason I can think of why we are not allowed.
