Just joined a 2 ball and holy shit, it was like ripping my eyeballs out.

One of the guys had a clear language barrier with me which made it tricky, and the other was his son in law (SIL) from what I gathered.

SIL was the slowest person I’ve ever seen, he would get to his ball and be the furtherest from the green and just stand there asking ‘am I right to hit’ EVERY. SINGLE. SHOT.
He would slice a drive into the bushes and come and stand near us while we hit our balls and then start looking.

Group behind yelled at us to hurry up, and I don’t blame them.

Weirdly enough, he was okay at golf, which just shit me more!

On the first tee box the group in front of us had literally just teed off and were 100m down the fairway and the father looked at me and said something like ‘you hit now’ and motioned me forward. I declined and said they literally just teed off and are in range. We stood for another 15 seconds and he motioned me forward again saying ‘you’re up’. I responded just saying ‘they are still in my range, feel free to go if you’re not going to hit them’.

SIL got the message with putting when I told him to chip on as we were both standing and watching him from the green and he wasn’t doing anything.

It was a frustrating time to say the least.

Par yesterday. -11. Tough conditions, couple of bad breaks but still, that’s Shizen Hausen.

Stableford today. Rain on and off, off and on. Disruptive. Score in the low 30s. First hole on fire with the bird, then doubles for a stretch. Started to hate myself

9 holes twilight today at Spring Park. Apart from the first 2 holes which were absolute disasters (got stunk in bunkers on the 1st) I played fairly well. Played the par 3 holes perfectly, most pleasing aspect was being able to pull the round back to finish well after a disaster opening, still finished with 17 points.

In other news, I got hit by a ball today, right on the lumbar spine after I teed off. Hurt like shit for about 2 mins then wore off, but a but tender now.

Accidents happen, but the guy didn't even bother to yell fore.

I played it around a month or so ago. Car park is MUCH better.

Scrapped like a sewer rat tonight. Went double, bogey, bogey then parred everything coming in. Got up and down x4 times. 14 putts. Didn't feel like I hit many good shots. Did hit one 270m bomb. Driving was OK but approach shots were terrible. Short game kept me in it.

The greens are infinitely much better. Bunkers are hard. I found the whole place hard but it was stroke so yeah.

As for your course, always love playing there.

Yarra x2 greens are excellent and challenges peninsula Kingswood as having the best greens in the state.

Flinders is awesome fun.

I’ve blown out to 15.7 soft cap. My last three rounds have been 32 points, 33 points and 33 points again yesterday.
Playing partner pissed me off yesterday when he ripped his glove off just before I hit a putt. My cousin, best mate used to do that all the time as well as slamming his club into his golf bag as he put it away!

Working hard since my last abysmal round when the driver was playing up. Played 9 on Sunday...used Driver 4 times and hit 3 good ones.

Played 18 today. 11 over 79 total. 9 in greens in reg. 10 from 13 drives were good. 4 or 5 250m plus not too shabby as I am closer to 60 than 50 years old lol. Three 3 putts on the back nine was disappointing.

9 tonight. 4 over again but played much better than the other night. My driving is good, my short game and putting is good, it's just my approach shots that let me down, I miss the green when I shouldn't. I can get up and down but it's not making birdies when they're there that stops me making really good scores. I think it's.mental/tactical as much as skill. Something to work on.
