The national gc today. Scored highly on stableford. But really let myself down with an opportunity to prevail in the daily comp by letting others get to me. Didnt lose a ball despite attempts. 1 wipe. So many pars.

32 points yesterday. For once my short game and putting was on, short irons and wedges were like darts, but my driver was absolutely wild. Only hit 3 fairways and lost 3 balls in the first 4 holes.

Wasn’t a particularly great round but still better than my best work last year.

A few up in Par yesterday. Conditions were unfavourable to start with cold and showers. Cleared up and the fun began. Played well mostly I gotta say which was pleasing. unconscious and in the zone for a solid 2 hours.

I had 42 points last Tuesday for a win at Toowoomba City Golf Club. Started with 23 points on the back nine. Three putted 18 for 1 point.
On the front nine I three putted holes 1 and 9 for a wash.
Thank **** I hung on by a point. Btw, we got around in just under 3.5 hours in a group of four.

Played again Wednesday and my ball striking was less convincing but I scrambled well. It started raining when we finished 14 holes. I was 28 points and the fellas said that they were pulling the plug. I wanted to finish even though it got a little wet and the group in front were heading for close to a five hour round. They were three holes behind the next group and we teed off 21 minutes behind them.

I’ve been busy most of July painting the house and cleaning it. Finally got out ready for rental in Toowoomba and I moved to Kedron, Brissy on Friday. The wife and children have been in Kedron for three weeks now.

Nope. It has always historically been a goat track. Believe it or not I think it used to be worse than whatever condition it’s in now.

I moved to Kedron so it looks like I’ll probably join Redcliffe Golf Club. As I’m a member at City Golf Club, Toowoomba I’m allowed 20 games per year at Redcliffe because they are reciprocal. This means that I’ll wait until later in the year before I join. Nudgee would be good but there’s a waiting list plus a $2000 Entrance fee.

Redcliffe is a nice layout, I enjoy playing it. Although I couldn’t deal with being eaten alive by mosquitoes - especially on those last 4 or 5 holes. Awful.

Honestly, the $2k entrance fee is worth it to join Nudgee if you can. The only risk is whether their fees sky rocket at some point, but I think that’ll have to happen with a lot of SEQ clubs to keep them afloat.

Medal day - net 76, with a 2 stroke penalty

Third hole is a part three, tee recently redone. Tee is now quite wide, with a small tier in the middle. Basically cut into four quadrants.

Tee markers back left, red tees front left. Me and one of my usual partners, plus two female members.

We hit off the back tee, then ladies walk up to reds. I walk to the front right of the tee, level with the ladies teeing off. I then notice the BLACK markers are front right, and it was the BLUE markers back left.

Could not believe it. I have no idea why the blues were 15 metres behind the blacks, or why the blacks were level with the reds. I would not even have known if not for playing with the ladies, I would have hit off and headed to the path on the left side of the tee and started walking. I bet a few groups today hit off the wrong tee and didn't know.

Having said that, you don't deserve better than 76 when you have triples on two par 3s. Uggh.
