Played at Sorrento GC today. Excellent conditions if not needing some moisture or rain. Really enjoyed the company. Some very difficult par 3s that were lengthy into the wind. Almost lost a ball on the first. Lost a ball on one of the par 3s into the dam. Just a hit

I played a late 19 there myself.

Easy to block one right on 5 into the dam. Internal OOB is a nasty penalty

But sheesh the dams are low.

Played a Foursomes (alt-shot) comp yesterday. Never played that format before. We played to our handicap (8.5) which I thought was really good but not good enough to win.

While it was fun and super quick it's not something I'd like to play often.
It’s good for a few rounds a year. We have an annual mixed Canadian foursomes(both tee off, choose one and alt shot from there). Also known as the Mixed Divorsomes.

I think at Muirfield, the members almost exclusively play foursomes. Which I find completely weird.

Full disclosure: thought I would play a fun 9 holes on Friday with wife. Opened with a triple, she bogeyed. That was a bit amusing wasn’t it? A few more holes and her lead lengthened. I panicked, she didn’t and proceeded to beat me handily.

Did anyone play today in our Melb wind? Good Lord it was blowing!
Yes well not in Melbourne. But at the national.

At times it looked like no one was on the course. it was bliss. until the rain came. windy all day. battered and bruised. put one ball into an adjoining property which i couldnt retrieve due to electric fencing. great.

score int eh 30s.

Vic northerly's! Great username/post.

Best round in months today.
39 pts/ 84, saluted in the comp.
Mini driver was a weapon, old Ping putter which I’ve had re shafted and gripped worked a treat.
One wipe and a 4 putt double only real blemishes in a consistent round.
I like golf again.

the national was again very windy. 2 clubs most of the times. Lost a ball on the 10th after turning 18. Though here we go you play good. Then hooked into the crap and goneski. putting on song today which helped. playd to 14, 36 putts/ Chipping was v good today

Played at The Lakes Golf Club today, which is in Sydney. It was a good social round with friends.

Sydney hath experienced a lot of rain of late and you could feel the softness on the greens which had undergone some tinning. Greens were still true however. The wasteland and bunkers are very fluffy which posed issues early on.

The front 9 is more forgiving as there is little to no h2o. The back 9 has lots of water.

I lost my rangefinder on the 16th. It was returned after the round. 17 and 18 was totally unfocussed and pissed at not having it. It was there I lost my change at claiming silverware when a pathetic 4 shots to get onto the green on the 18th hole. Its a par3 FFS. Teed off with a 5 wood into a 173m green. Went all of 50m. idiot.

Lost 2 balls on 11. Yes lets lay up from a long way back, smart play. Yeah take a long wood and slice into the water. great.

The 14th is a funny old hole. Fairway runs from 6pm to 1pm. On the left, massive lake. But closer you are to it the better your shot into a small green is. I lost a ball there

Fortunately putted well for a course i havent played in a long time. 35 putts.

Long course.

Last 3 weeks of his high school career (assuming team and/or him advance out of district)

Final sectional tournament ends with an even par 72, clipped by a teammate.

On to the District tournament next week--he is defending champ there, shot 69 last year.

Had our first annual 5 club challenge today.
I started on fire, 21 pts on front 9, then putter deserted me on the back, 12 pts.
Only having 5 clubs made no difference whatsoever to my score.
In fact I actually struck the ball better.
Driver, 5, 8, Wedge and Putter?

Which 5 clubs did you take

Alex managed to go back to back as individual District Champion with even par 72 today. Team also upended rival JFK for team title. JFK had won 3 district team titles in a row

Qualified for 4th State Championship, which along with his fellow senior teammate was first time in school history that happened.

2 rounds of high school golf left for him next week.
