Elixuh , I rang up Pacific last Saturday so that my mate and myself could play comp on the Sunday. We weren’t willing to play late because of the bad weather forecast. They only had a two spot at 11:42 but they wanted $271 total for us to play there. We can play at Royal Pines for significantly less.

We don’t want the riff raff let in.

Hilariously you dodged a bullet because they had the course closed for a week like 3 weeks ago for full course renos (fairways and greens) and are redoing the 7th green so a temp green is in play.

Wonder if the golf shop mentioned these minor details on the phone call as they were trying to get his credit card details...

Not gonna lie; I only understand about 2/3rds of the discussion on the last page or two. But I love it all the same.

Why am I so addicted to this sport out of nowhere? Did I turn 41 and a new part of my brain that was previously dormant got activated?

On Saturday it'll be a month since my course was scarified, cored and sanded. Hoping that it will have fully recovered by then. It makes for very ordinary putting

33 points today at Redcliffe Golf Course. I was always behind the magical two points a hole except for my 4 a 3 on the first followed by two double bogeys on two and three. Washed the 380m long 18th into a strong headwind. Mofo way to finish but reasonably happy overall.

Gentle round with a bunch of mates at frankston golf club. aside from an abysmal double on the par 5, which included a great drive, great long wood.....then a simble chip onto a slightly raised green which i couldve putted onto but no hey lets do a funky cut chip. yes thin it over the back into a depression which u cant chip or putt out of. idiot.

That’s what you call keeping the riff raff out Elixuh 😂

23.5k with around 3-4 year wait list
Definitely not 4 years. I can say that with a large degree of certainty ;)

Also by the time the OP gets in I've projected the join fee to be closer to $30k (4 x subs).

Wonder what point clubs start worrying about wait lists, subs etc.? To me, 2 years seems like a nice amount of time to indicate there is a decent amount of pent up demand so the club has some protection if there's a downturn.

Mine is at 7 years - COVID didn't do its job.
Golf remains in a boom phase at present. Clubs have never had it so good. The challenge will be when the sport falls out of fashion (as it most surely will).
