26pts, 41 putts. They were quick. First putt grazes the edge then ends 8ft past the hole. You know what happens next.
I'll never understand why sandbelt clubs feel the need to jack the green speeds so high for standard member comps (where the average handicap is ~16).

It's like a macabre badge of honour they try to bestow upon themselves.

I get your point but it was on me how things panned out. I am used to quick greens but just got my own speeds wrong and a couple of times just a bit too aggressive.
And cracked the shits a few times also.

Pres was looking to give you an excuse. Have the greens been punched recently? That can see various greens have very different speeds as they recover differently?

Yeh I know, he was being very kind.
But no excuses, greens are in immaculate condition.

Greens at the Dunes have been slower than usual recently.
Been fattening them up for the Dunes Medal which is on this week....pretty sure they would've given them a trim and roll for that.

Hopefully playing Woodlands on Sunday.... think Driver will be left behind, might just bunt it around with my Rescue.

Interesting day at national. A tale of two 9s. Scrappy front but fought back to what seemed like half a good projected score. front 9 lowlights included wiping a par 3 courtesy of hitting the ball into the drink. and after a string of great holes proceeded to lose 2 balls off the tee late in the round to wipe the hole. I curse you golf gods! But then birdied the next hole par 3 so okay i forgive you.

all in all a placing and enjoyable company, no, great company on the day. Sun was out and it got warm. Then it got cold in the valleys. Greens very good and will be better for a cut and roll.

Par. -1. Minus, plus, minus, plus…all day.
36 putts including a 4 putt on #17.
60 foot putt, 40 to the hole then 20 past it. Dickhead.

Played Eastwood today and for $65 was brilliant value.

Great little track and was pin hunting the par 3s. But off the tee I have been horrendous and continue to be. But enjoyable and better then being at work.

Had a great ball striking 9 holes with some mates today. 6/7 Fairways and 5/9 greens. Put some video of my swing on the technique thread. Couldn't get the ball to the hole with my putts though.

Club champs finished today. Was in B grade this year, and played reasonably well over the two rounds. Today was in a rhythm and got down to -1 nett after a rough start, then the first 10 I have had in 2 years, followed by a 9 and I was done. Wasn’t bad luck either, just poor play and decision making.

I still would have won the C grade title for a second year running if my hcp was 1 point higher, so that’s some consolation.

My goal this year was to get to B grade, which I achieved. Goal next year will be to be competitive at that level. Without buying any new clubs 🤣

Swap day at Metro. Course was in good nick with the new greens playing pretty well. I reckon there’s a bit of poa in the front 9. A bit lumpy at times, but no dramas. As is tradition on swap days the pins were tucked. Putted like arse again, sub 30pts.

Pathetic day on the course at the national. Strange weather, began with drizzle and nothing on the radar until 4 hours later when misty fog set in. it was eerie. Then drizzle to finish the final hol

when u par the first with a shot u think here we go, then remember it can only get worse.

91 off the stick. yeah really. 39 putts from memory including a delightful 4 putt on 6th. lost concentration a lot.

topped a few fariway woods slash hybrids which was great. especially from the tee.

Jesus F'ing Christ.
Thursday, as mentioned, hit 6 of 7 fairways. Played great golf.
Saturday evening went out and played probably the worst golf I've played in what felt like years. Everything went right. Tee shots, wedges, punch out irons. Everything.
Had no idea why. My swing felt the same as two nights before. But the results were opposite.
Went out last night and had 17 points for 9 holes (5 over) playing off of the tips.
I just have to shake my head and move on.
What a game this is.

shit game

Played at Woodlands yesterday.
Unfortunately it was Par, but it was good to play somewhere else.
Liked the greens but the course in general didn’t really do it for me.
A sameness about every hole.
A lot of the bunkers were mini lakes and the sand was rock hard.
I’d much prefer to play somewhere like Rosebud CC Nth.
$18k joining fee and $5k subs, ridiculous rates. Really can’t see how it’s a top 30 course

Controversial take! But that's what we're here for. Bit harsh to judge bunkers when they are that wet.

I reckon Par cops a bad rap. Anyone who thinks they miss out on scoring opportunities because they can't get a 4 pointer needs to remember they shoot far more wipes than 4 pointers. Par scores are usually higher/better than stableford.
