Nup, just North. The Par 5, (3rd I think) is a genuine cracker. Great bit of land, I love sandbelt with altitude changes, it's as good as golf gets!

The only places which come close is Bandon (ridiculous) Pebble/Spyglass or Ponte Vedra Beach or if going to Europa - Ireland/North Ireland/Spain.

It helps not ever being married lol

Nah I was a cricketer, 5 days a week, I spent my 18th and 19th year in England playing cricket. Then I realised I was never getting a game for Australia as Gilchrist was a bit better lol. Golf was an afterthought. On the wait list at Vic, my best mate is a member at Cathedral so if you want to see that beauty, can probably wrangle it (if you're a decent bloke of course haha).

I go down the beach (Blairgowrie) most weekends, so happily play Moonah, Dunes, RCC (it's actually ok now after the Reno)...

You're probably right if you're no good, though. Can understand how that would **** with your head if you're a little bit yippy with putting/chipping. I'm not.

haha 100%, good thing I used to keep to him when he was the opening bowler @32 and I was a young buck @15.

Just because I'm anti-social, doesn't mean I'm terrible company or not generous or don't pay my way. Having worked in sales all my life (until my accident in 2024), I can turn on the charm when needed.

The real question is will I still be in Aus when the Membership dept call, I doubt it. Probably back to Punta Espada GC by then. Or back in The States/Colombia, the only reason to be in Australia is the golf, the afl, beef and education for my kid.

I would if you weren't a supporter of the scum... (Arsenal) not my Papa's Baggers. It's unusual to see a Norf fan with the mentality of a Bagger, it's not for everyone. I get it.

I'll leave you in peace, was only looking for some golf with some golfers, obviously I'm in the wrong place. I'll stick to the people in the Bayside Bubble, I get into trouble when I venture away - peace.

Golf is one of those few sports where you need to be positive, think you're going to hit the fairway, hit it close, make the putt etc etc

If you have any doubts, being better than cuck isn't really possible, IMO.

Unlike AFL, there's no extra points awarded to you for being a good bloke.

It's simple, try it, report back if you attain any improvement. I reckon you will. I'm a keeper, we're built a bit different and for that I do apologise.

Given you're a Richmond fan, how are you going since the closure of your local, Kingston Links? Or Waverley GC or the wonderful 27-hole complex at Endeavour Hills?

I have a few mates who are members there. It's pretty good for the wrong side of Warragul Rd....Genuinely laughable that anyone considers it better than the composite.

I'm a fan of the East, I'd say it's on par with the West (Top 7 in Australia).

The Heath is next imo.

Agree it's a significantly better course, but as a golfing "experience", I don't know.

I'm more into golfing experiences these days + the extra commute is great, why have 5.5 hours away from home when you can turn it into a whole weekend?

Dinner and night-time action in the club house, great steak, wine-swaps, all sorts of extras...

I spend most of my time these days in Medellin, Col, so I rate the greens, bunkers, fairways of the sandbelt... the fact that it's dry under foot in the middle of winter, all those things matter.

But the idea of no carts is terrible, and having to walk around without a caddy isn't how golf is meant to be played when you hit 40, not to mention never having to wait for other punters (as there's no other people there).

37pts Wed. Only hit 8 fairways then 6 greens but made 6 pars on those and 4 one putts on others. 2 club wind was a challenge esp on the greens. I reckon they’ve dialled them up this week for all the international guests coming thru. Downhill, downwind…eeek.
Afterward the club dinner with guest speaker Steve Williams, promoting his book. Very happy with himself.
