94 At The National today. Into the wind on the front few meant coming home with the wind on the toughest home stretch known to man and woman. A fantastic 2 points in the last 4 holes was the icing on the cake. Oh yeah the wind shifted meaning playing into it on the way in So yeah **** that. 94 off the stick but take out the quad and3 x doubles and it looks ok.

Just a typical day on the Shark course.

Love the finishing stretch into the wind, genuinely savage. 18 isn't that tough, but the stretch SAF is.

Started the year with 34 pts (93). First 9 had 12 points, second 9 went into a zone and had 22, finished with 10 pts over the last 3 holes. Made less mistakes, had some spinny chip shots, and no bunker until the 18th hole. Despite all that I’m dropping a decent flag so my hcp will push well back into the 20’s.

14 over Waterford Valley today. Blow out on the last. Pars and Bogies for the first 17.

Record for me...13 from 14 fairways hit. The one miss was decent...fairway bunker on a par 5. Did not capitalize with not enough greens in reg and too many putts.
Sounds exactly like my last round there, hit every fairway until the 18th where I went in the water twice and had a moose.

No brotherly love at the end either, my mate who I played with claimed he beat me even though he had at least one mulligan a hole.

7 over 79 Waterford Valley today. 11/14 fairways. 11 Greens in reg. No Birdies. Four 3 putts dam it. Putting prevented me from having one of my best rounds ever. 34 putts.
You have learn how to Birdie the Par 5's there (well everywhere) - rule that my absolute golfing freak mate uses is: lay up to ~77m unless you're hitting an iron in as your 2nd shot. Worked for me.

Simple and logical.

Unfortunately approaching 60 years of age...mostly hitting in from 100 on my 3rd with my best shots sadly!

That is old school thinking. Strokes gained has completely thrown out the idea of hitting to yardages - except for laying up short of trouble. And as for birdies, as handicaps go down, they only marginally increase. Its reducing bogeys and removing doubles where the low marks score.

Crazy to me that blokes off 10 average less than one under par hole per round…

I'm not the one who has trouble making birdies..

Ever had rounds without a 5?

Yep, ridiculous. 2-3 for you, otherwise you've chopped it?

~30 putts

It's a simple game, really. Just be better.

With new technology, you're probably hitting it as far as ever... no?

See the numbers in the table above.

They have more meaning than boasts to strangers on the internet. Did you do that before you bumped your head?
