Crazy to me that blokes off 10 average less than one under par hole per round…
Not to me. I live in that world of usually somewhere between 10 and 7. Sounds right. The 1/2 a birdie a round difference between the 10 marker and the 5 marker shows how hard birdies are to make. There is a massive difference between 5 and 10 and its essentially got next to nothing to do with making birdies.

The thing that stops me from being better is the doubles I have every round, usually multiple and often associated with a poor decision

See the numbers in the table above.

They have more meaning than boasts to strangers on the internet. Did you do that before you bumped your head?
Further to this...

Hardly a stranger or a boast.. TPA is the leader on your leaderboard isn't he? The best golfer in here (with lowest handicap).

Nice try though. Seems rational and somewhat logical to assume he's pretty good. There are good players out there. In addition, there are dudes with hot wives, can they not say their wife is good looking because that's a boast?

And you're handing out guidance on old and new school thinking? Jfc, ma China.
The real problem is that your schtick isn’t entertaining
i'm really not trying to entertain you, I have no idea what you're getting at. Are you saying you're only content with people who can't play so they respect your schtick? I don't get it, people aren't allowed to be cocky? Even those who can back it up?

Fact is I used to be bloody good, that I played (usually stoned) is neither here nor there, my offer extends to you. You clearly need help, rather than be upset at people who are better, just accept it, learn from them and you'll hopefully find some peace.

True.

However I have got down to my lowest (3.5, now 3.8) by making at least one more birdie a round (average between 1.5-2 - 37 in my last 20 rounds).

Avoiding blowouts I do agree makes a noticeable difference also.

And that makes sense at your level. If you are now 3.5 and were around 6 according to the chart above you do need more birdies. 5 mark to scratch has an extra birdie per round. The 20 to 25 marker has no difference in birdies. You no doubt have tightened up elsewhere but you need more birdies to go lower.

Both happy and disappointed. 6 over today for 18 but was 3 over with 3 to play. Didn't play the last 3 badly, just underclubbed a bit hitting straight into the wind.
Best round in some time.
I usually peak in Jan/Feb/March so hoping for some more good scores.
TennisPlayerAndy I had x2 birdies for the round.

Should be a forum rule.

You must post how many birdies each round.

Have had 10 birdies last 4 rounds. 3,1,4,2. Way out of the norm for me.

Looked at the 4 rounds before that and only 1 birdie . Unfortunately thats much closer to the real story

72 yesterday. Had a shot at shooting even par but bogeyed the 18th after ramming a putt 10ft past the hole from the fringe.

4 birdies and followed up every one of them with a bogey lol.

Overall a great round though. Done a lot of work on ball striking the past few months and it's paying off.

Hi guys, long time lurker here. My local course is Golden Beach on the Ninety Mile Beach. Anyone played there? Had my best round Saturday in the Comp. Playing off a 28 hcp, [don't play much comp, reason hcp so high] hit 84 off the stick, Nett 56. Won 2 nearest pins also won on the day. Hcp likely to be wound in a bit but happy with game.

I've had to change my game completely after taking a 15 year break. 250m was a good drive in early days, now it's 180. I'm happy with that though.

I love golf!!!!

You’d get arrested at my course if you did that.

That’s the kind of round that gets produced in the second round of our club champs - also a single round stroke event called the Victory Cup. It’s on Saturday week and is often stolen by some junior who has just taken up the game and played every day in the school hols. Or your stock standard bushranger who only plays in January.
