Couldn't miss the fairway today. Couldn't hit a green today.
Putted really well but didn't give myself any birdie looks. perfect conditions to go low but just could not find a green.

36 points, 85 off the stick (par 70 hcp 15.)

Flip flopped the other way today. 7 birdie putts, made none of them.

36 points again, 87 stick.

Just back from three days of golf - Barwon Heads, 13th (beach course) and Lonsdale Links.

First time playing BH and LL, have played 13th many times. 2 scores in the 30s, which sandwiched a horrendous low 20s score at 13th. Hit it well all weekend, but just kept hitting good shots into bad places at 13th.

Barwon Heads is a very nice track. Not as tough as 13th. I felt like there were a lot more bailed out spots, and not a lot of trouble short so you can reduce risk. Greens completely unreadable. Had no idea. Pro at 13th was saying the issue there is the grain. Whatever it was, it was a mystery to me.

LL easiest of the three. Was surprised how short it was. For some reason I thought it was going to be similar to BH. Fun little course, plenty of interesting holes. Played back 9 first, front 9 seemed way tighter. Next time I go I will probably use the driver half as much as I did today. Struck it well, so didn't get into trouble, but with hindsight there would have been no drama being 30 yards shorter on most of the par 4.

All three courses were in immaculate condition, although 13th will benefits from the rain today. Greens were rock hard, very difficult to hold with anything over a 7 iron.

73 at Flinders (never played there before). Five birdies (career best). Wedges absolutely mint. Putter behaved.

Wayward driver on a couple of holes resulted in wipes but otherwise, can’t be upset at all.

It’s on the shorter side. Lot of the par fours are under 300. First hole is great, teeing off from next to the clubhouse is cool.

More of a thinking course I’d say and the view is ****ing spectacular.

peninusla kwood norf today. It was fun. No warm up and hastily went to the putty green for some average putts. then nervously stood at the first tee. somehow got one out there short of the trouble and then fleeced a 6iron up and atom to the green. 2 putt for par? nah 3 putt.

same on the 2nd par 3. 6i, 2 putt?. nah 3. haha. thought here we go.

bogeyed the next par 5.

etc.

1 lost ball. sad to lose it on the 5th. After a monster drive decided yes lets hook it into the poo.

score in the 30s.

Haven't been able to play for a few weeks due to a kidney stone, off work for 3 weeks. Told a couple of mates I'd come for the walk on Saturday at Wembley and just chip and putt. That lasted about 4 holes until I pulled out the 6 and tested my luck a bit. Felt pretty good so played the back 9, hit a 47. Spot available at The Cut next day I'm told. Probably shouldn't, but f*** it.
Hit a 94, pretty good at The Cut, 4 lost balls and finished with a triple and a double which was a bit disappointing.

I'm on cloud nine right now.

Mt Derrimut today. My second ever comp day. Playing off a 38 handicap, so bare that in mind.

My previous PB at Derrimut was 115 strokes.

Today I hit 107, for 41 Stableford points!

Thats good enough for 10th overall in the comp, and 4th outright in the C grade leaderboard.



More than the comp result though, I'm so happy with my personal golf development. Really felt the improvement today and hit some of the best shots of my life.

I shit the bed on two holes, which both registered a score of ten strokes. If I can clean that up, I'm well within range of breaking 100!

After today, my handicap has come in... 30.8! Yewwww.

****ing love this dumb game.

I drove the ball the best I've ever driven it. Hit the single best flop shot of my life. Had some fantastic recovery shots from the rough.

When my head hits the pillow each night, I relive some of those hits and the satisfaction that they brought.

Am I in trouble? Is this what addiction is?

Not since the rebuild. Reckon I’ve played north four or five times. Course has always been north.

If we are comparing against the old layouts the South course has improved significantly more than the North.
