Again, read the definition of hack. It's somebody who has limited skills and plenty of endeavour.

Just because you have provided a stipulative definition of hack does not mean that I or anyone else should accept it.

This is particularly the case when I am the one who has created the thread.

By "Lovable hack" I mean: A person who, through failure, becomes an object of slapstick entertainment to the supporters of the team they are in.

Note the words in bold. Failure is pretty general. It can refer to anything, be it skills, application or even awareness.

Come up with a substantial comeback next time. You seem to think that there have never been any lovable hacks on your list. Your naive arrogance is sickening.

If you don't think that Essendon supporters had a laugh about Kep when he was playing you clearly didn't go to many games, and must have ignored comments on your team board.

Essentially, you have come into this thread derided the concept and have consequently attacked anyone who has made jokes about some less than famous Essendon players. You have flogged yourself by showing how predictably stereotypical some Bomber supporters can be. You show off your arrogance by saying that "Essendon doesn't tolerate hacks" and go on to attack anyone who suggest that there have been such players. In your first post you also pulled out the classic Essendon supporter defense "16 premierships to 1" before you were even criticised. Clearly you were looking for an argument.

You have merely tried to derail the topic, and were never interested in it in the first place. Take it seriously, or continue to prove you are an epic failure.

You're right. We loved Keps, what a great clubman.

I remember reading in the paper how there was a 20 page thread on BomberBlitz with Essendon fans disgusted with Kepler Bradley after ANZAC day last year, many calling for him to never play again. Yeah, what a lovable player.

Rioli was fat sure, coward unlikely, but nowhere near a hack.

I disagree, a hack is not confined to that category. Although colloquially we usually refer to a hack as a no talent try hard, it could also be referred to some one who butchers talent as " to hack it". Therefore when referring to someone as a hack, don't you think it could used both ways?? So I'm saying that Rioli is a hack because he had the talent but ruined his career by being a fat arse lazy footballer. I think that's being a hack also.
