Wow, dont think your going a touch early with that? When was Smiths judges mark of the century anyway, i thought it was done in like 04 or 05, really not sure, if someone more knowledgeable wants to clarify.

Smith's mark was in the 90's, hence last century.

Also agree Moorcroft's is best of all time (subjective obviously).

Got that mate, but if the award for mark of the century was judged in 2004 it would cover the hundred years preceeding 2004 (1904-2004) i asked the question as i wasn't sure when the award was judged, really didn't think it was that complicated, FWIW i also think Moorcrofts was the better mark, but as has been shown by this years Mark of the year, public consensus doesn't always win.

Are you crazy? Walkers mark was an elevated chestmark. Moorcrofts was the greatest mark of all time fully outstretched.

I was comparing them as they were at the highest point on the shoulders of another player.

The comparison, or observation, was that both were phenomenal, as opposed to Krakouer's standard "jump up, mark" type.

Smith's mark was taken in the last round of the 1995 season. Like Walker's mark, Smith's mark was a chest mark (as was Bosustow's MOTY in 1981) & is probably the best mark I have seen (despite it not being a pack mark, so apparently not as difficult to take).

... I know when smith took the mark I was asking when the mark of the century was judged, as in what was the criteria for the mark of the century? Was it 1995-1895 or 2000-1900 when was the cutoff. If the mark of the century was judged after moorcrofts mark was taken and included it in a list of potential nominees then smiths was judged as better, however if the mark of the century was judged prior to moorcrofts mark then obviously they are not comparable

Scratch that, is there actually an official mark of the century at all? I just tried googling it and couldn't come up with anything. Does anyone have an actual source for the official mark of the century?
