i'm sure most of you if not all have one or more football item/s (or football related item/s) that you would die before you let go of. it can be anything from a signed gurnsey to a lucky charm.
mine would be:
1. football gurnsey signed by the players
2. a flag signed by the players
3. a letter i got from my favorite player
4. my teddy bear which i take to every game and gives me luck

whats yours?
(hope u like this topic)

Yep. Great topic.

1) Wayne Campbell's 3 letters + signature
2) Tiger guernsey
3) Tiger quilt and pillow case!
4) Richmond scarf/beanie.

I hope that sums it up well.

Without doubt, my first scarf and beanie. I remember thinking it was the greatest thing ever. I slept with them on all the time. I still have my scarf hanging prominently in the room somewhere. It just symbolises the awe inspiring magic of footy when you are a kid or a kid at heart.

A ribbon brooch I made in the shape of a FB (Footscray Bulldogs) when I was in primary school...

Love the topic, by the way.

My most treasured football possessions are: my old Fitzroy scarf (not worn since the 1996 season and never will be again) and this GREAT doll I got - a little guy in Fitzroy jumper scarf and beanie, holding a flag, sitting on a wooden bench with a meat pie half-out of a paper bag, it's the most adorable thing!!!!!!!!! He sits on my shelf, he is a little faded these days, but to me he represents the way it used to be.

OMG I also treasure my Lions guernsey, it's only a few seasons old but I wear it every week, even if the game is only on telly LOL

Oh wait, forgot to mention my Fitzroy scrapbooks, I started them as soon as all the merger crap began, until the bitter end, I often pull them out for a look, it makes for interesting reading.

my most prized footy possession is my colts premiership medallion i won as captain of the 1996 mornigside team.
It hangs on my bedroom wall and my number 31 guernsey i wore in the game. To me there worth more then anything any afl player could give me.

I have a scarf that I bought when I was 7 (25 years ago); I still wear it to every match. It is getting a little threadbare, but I figure I will get at least another 10 years out of it!

This is a hallucination and these faces are in a dream. A computer generated environment; a fantasy island you can do anything and not have to face the consequences.

My favourites would have to be:

1. A scrap book given to me by an old timer that was started in the 1920's about the Port Adelaide football club, it also has clippings that are as early as 1914 in it and goes right through to the 1960's.

Ports Premiership teams, runners up, State sides etc.

A photo plate from "the Observor" an early 20 th Century newspaper, of Ports 1914, Undefeated "Champions of Australia" side.
( Went thru' the 1914 season Undefeated, were challenged by WA premiers East Fremantle, we beat them, were then challenged by VFL premiers for the National trophy, we beat them, were then challenged by a combined SAFL team, we beat them went undefeated from mid 1913 until mid 1915. My favourite piece of Memorabilia)

The Gems in it also include Cricket, the bodyline series in Adelaide and original cigarette cricket cards of the complete Australian and English teams.

Also I have some framed memorabilia that includes Port Adelaide " B " Football clubs from the early 20's,1950's souveneir ovalshaped plastic coated premiers photo of Ports 1955 premiership side and a host of
Newspaper sales posters ,Framed of Ports AFL bid...i.e. " Its Port !" with a Magpie jumping for joy.

A framed 1884 repro Picture of Ports first Premiership team from 1884.
And my collection of Football Club books !!

Love them all !!!!!!

Hmm.

I've got this 'centenary' football, brown leather, from the '96 season.

I've had it autographed by a number of players from the '96 Fitzroy team, as well as some of the more famous Fitzroy legends (Bill Stephen, Norm Brown, Alastair Lynch, Mick Conlan etc.).

Then there's all the other Fitzroy stuff (too much to mention!).

One of the more interesting things though, is these two bookcases that I've got, painted in Fitzroy colours, with the FFC logo on them.

The aren't that great for the deco, but that's never bothered me too much!

A Cigarette Trading Card from 1909 of the great South Melbourne champion Vic Belcher.

Absolutely mint condition, still wrapped in wax paper, has no fading or yellowing, no frayed edges and no creases.

Dunno how much its worth - but maybe one day it will pay for a grand-childs University education !

cheers

hah sabre, try selling the jumper on ebay and say "Limited edition of 1 - signed Dockers Jumper of McManus" and some sucker might buy it, or hope that he wins the Brownlow in 2001 and get rich!

hrmm, i'd have to say all my stuff!!!
1 all my signed stuff
2 photo's with demons players
3 letters
4 autographs
5 my 22 guernsey

Well this isn't my possesion but this is Joffa's who is also a fellow Pie supporter. He has a turf of grass from the MCG the day Collingwood won the grand final in 1990 which he still has in a jar. That's a pretty precious one i think!

"Collingwood forever"

My footy scarf which I've had for about 20 years with the old VFL logo on it.

A photo of my family and myself holding the 1999 Premiership Cup.

My very first North Melbourne Membership ticket purchased in 1976.

good topic!
Well i collect EVERYTHING!

The most important things to me are my *photos* with all the players! My faves r the one from the best and fairest dinner with Ricky and the one of me and Scotty West on the beach!

Then my *Spider footy sock* that he sent to me! and my little *Sainter teddy that Spider signed* for me that sleeps right next to me every night lol!
