What would be your team for the One day finals coming up? Mine is...

M.Waugh
A.Gilchrist (vc)
R.Ponting
M.Bevan
S.Waugh (c)
D.Lehmann
A.Symonds
I.Harvey
S.Warne
B.Lee
G.McGrath
12th Man: D.Martyn

Id like to include Daming Fleming but its hard to boot out Brett or Glenn.

"Collingwood forever"

Only change id make would be Martyn for Lehmann, but i think either would do a great job, hard to split them, maybe Martyns fielding and bowling would be slightly more useful, but i wouldnt be unhppy with Boof

My team would be...

A.Gilchrist(vc)
M.Waugh
R.Ponting
D.Martyn
S.Waugh(c)
D.Lehmann
M.Bevan
I.Harvey
S.Warne
G.McGrath
N.Bracken
12th A.Symmonds

I wouldn't have Brett Lee in because he has been carted since returning from that back injury, which seems to have flared again in today's game.
I would leave McGrath out as he hasn't been in form since the first test match. But there is no one to replace him at the moment.
Bracken has impressed me. (I know i put down his selection, but only because i felt he didn't have the form yet to be in, but he's bowled straight and accurate, something B.Lee has been missing.)

Well after scoring 144 not out against Zimbabwe, I think Martyn deserves to be in the finals team. Congrats to Australia for winning by one run....BRING ON THE FINALS!!

Any team would do as long as it doesn't have Darren Lehmann in it.

I am a South Australian but I hate Darren 'Boof the ****' Lehmann, hes a crows fan as well so that should be enough reason to leave him out.

Lehmann has had a few lucky knocks because he has been playing against poor competition chasing low scores while opening. Im sure if he was opening when Australia was trying to set a score for the opposition his scores would not have been so high.

Im sure Martyn's score of about 144 not out today should be enough to keep Lehmann out, god knows what will happen if he becomes a part of the winning Australian side in the finals, he might actually go to India and we don't need that.

1. M Waugh
2. Gilly
3. Ponting
4. Bevan
5. S.Waugh
6. Martyn
7. Symonds
8. Warne
9. Fleming
10.B.Lee (if fit, otherwise Bracken)
11. McGrath

M Waugh
Gilchrist
Ponting
Lehmann
S Waugh
Martyn
Symonds
Harvey
Warne
Fleming
McGrath
12th Bevan

I think Lehman deserves a game ahead of Bevan.
Lee was shithouse last night.
Bracken is only in the side because he's from NSW.He hasn't done much.

You're kidding aren't you JUBJUB, how could you possibly justify leaving Bevan out of the side?

Tough call if Martyn was to be 12th man for the final series after making his highest score in his career for Australia. I'd have to put him just ahead of Lehmann not just on batting but on Martyn's fielding and bowling.

Has the time come for Steve Waugh to pension himself out of the one day game?
Before replying with jingoistic outcry, look at it objectively... he is still a top batsman, no question, BUT he no longer bowls and is no better a fielder than any other team member. Gilchrist and Warne have both shown their ability to take over as captains. With Waugh batting as low down as 6, the effect of the change-over will not be drastically felt while the team continues to win losing only 2-3 wickets during their 50 overs. Now would be the time to make the change because now is the time the replacements are ample.
And like Taylor and Healy before him, the extra rest may add 2 years to his Test career.

*Darky braces himself and heads for the bunker* Let the abuse begin...

No way.
Steve Waugh is a great batsmen and despite what you say, is a great fieldsmen being one of the safest pair of hands in the game. He deserves to be in the team untill the day he retires.
