My other team is the Diamond Creek Women's Football Club in the NFL.
Not to be confused with the Diamond Creek Football Club. Been involved
for 10 years, Secretary for 1 year and President for 3 years.

North players from the Club Sophie Abbotangelo, Ash Riddell, Jess Duffin.

Other to make AFLW to other AFLW Clubs. Tiarna Ernst, Lauren Morecroft, Millie Barden,
Stephanie Chiocci, Lisa Williams, Lauren Brazzale, Alison Downie, Laura Attard,
Shae Audley, Christina Bernardi, Stephanie De Bortoli, Kirsty Lamb, Chloe Molloy &
Katie Loynes
Interested in your thoughts on Jess Duffin as a footballer as you would have seen her play a bit of footy?

She had a game that would have kept her competitive against men at a relatively high level imo.

Very good overhead, strong, hard to move, kept her feet and a pretty good kick.

An elite sportswoman having also played Test Cricket and was a star in the BBL for women.

This could be a long list, so in summary:

Shield Cricket - WA
IPL - Kings IX
County- Yorkshire

NRL - South Sydney (after they were closed down I got an affinity for them, still couldn’t name a player though, League not gone on)
RU - Force, or Brumbies when force weren’t in, Munster

Football - Needs a long seperate list
A-League - Glory
EPL - Man Utd
Bundesliga 3 - 1860 Munchen
La Liga - Don’t have one
Serie A - Inter Milan
Ligue 1 - don’t really have one
Championship/Lower - Certain teams incl Shef Wednesday, Leeds, FC United of Manchester, Nottm Forrest (when lower down), Oxford United, varied (many years of FM)
Primera División (Arg) - Boca
Any underdog in Champions league/UEFA Cup
Other National Teams - Argentina, Ireland, Even NZ if we aren’t playing

Could never get into NFL, sorry

BBL - Wildcats but really don’t pay attention to it
NBL - Bulls (see above)

Other AFL Comps:
WAFL - Claremont (grew up in country zone), soft spot for Swans & Perth though family connections
SANFL - Glenelg, Sturt (see above)
GSFLWA - Royals (Soft spot for the Kangas though from sharing training ground back in the day)

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks
MLB: Milwaukee Brewers (clinched their division and into playoffs).
NFL: Green Bay Packers

All the above due to the fact I've spent enormous time in that region due work. Also, not a fan of the typical LA/NY following that most have.

NRL: Storm, kinda like Souths and Easts as dad played for both.

Love state cricket, especially shield.

The Dallas Mavericks in the NBA

When I was getting into it in 2002-2003 I was very attracted to the high scoring, 3 point trio of Dirk, Finley, and Nash. Unlike today, defense was still very much emphasised in the NBA but the Mavs were one of only a small handful of teams that run and gunned, so as kid, they stood out. Dirk is a genuinely nice, humble guy. Plus, the colours include royal blue and white

Hopefully with Luka Doncic, a second championship is not far off.

You're an amateur when it comes to picking losers. :D

Parramatta haven't won a premiership in 38 years, Carlisle are 3rd last in League Two after being relegated from League One last season, Deportivo La Coruna have gone from Spanish League and Cup Champions and Champions League Semi-Finalists to a third tier club in 20 years, Fiorentina haven't won the Italian League since the 1960's and the Atlanta Falcons haven't won a thing in almost 60 years. Even Liverpool have only won one league title in the last 35 years. In fact, North Melbourne may be my most successful team in the last thirty years. :(:(:(

I think I want to cry after writing that.

No way, it's easily Liverpool.

In the last 20 years:

North have won: 0 premierships, best results being prelims in 07, 14, and 15 (crazy that '14 final is over ten years ago).

Liverpool have won: 1 Premier League, 2 Champions Leagues (05, 19) 2 FA Cups (06, 22), 3 League Cups (12, 22, 24).

I like your interesting list of teams. Not much rhyme or reason behind them as far as I can see.

I support Arsenal. Not as emotionally invested as I am with North but it's not too far behind. It's the only other team that can get my heart racing, or my blood boiling, or trigger a depressive episode...

I don't have the time, or the emotional bandwidth to follow any other teams. I like watching a bit of the Cricket and the Tennis in the summer.

That's where the MAYBE comes into it, the AFL Clubs only compete in their National League, so I was only comparing National League titles. The European soccer clubs have numerous other cup and continental competitions they compete in and win titles, so yes you are correct. Liverpool, Marseille, Fiorentina and Deportivo La Coruna would all be more successful when including those extra competitions.

Just gonna pop them all in here.

NRL: Wests Tigers

KBO: Hanwha Eagles
NPB: Hanshin Tigers
MLB: Toronto Blue Jays

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

NHL: Washington Capitals

NBA: Dallas Mavericks

EPL: Man Utd
EFL Championship: Sunderland AFC
Serie A: Fiorentina
Bundesliga: FC St. Pauli
A-League: Central Coast Mariners

F1: McLaren (but it's really only for Oscar Piastri)

Golden State in the NBA. I started supporting them when they upset the Mavs in the 2007 playoffs (I love underdogs). Then the mid-2010s happened and they turned into the best team ever. The dynasty is over at this point, but I can't really complain or feel disappointed after seeing them make six finals series in an eight year period. It was the polar opposite to my experience as a North fan lmao

NFL : Indianapolis Colts, around 2004-5 had to pick a team for a tipping comp, picked the Colts because i liked their QB, Peyton Manning, and more importantly, their colours were Royal Blue and White, they won the Superbowl in 2006, but since then SFA, even with a QB named Luck.

Jess has a solid football brain and could read the play well. Age and not being fast eventually caught up with her.
My early focus at DCWFC was with the juniors. I was assistant coach for the U12s for 3 years and we
were premiers each year. We had very good lists. I put my hand up to be President in year 4 thinking that
they wouldn't do a 4 Peat, but they did :).

West brom baggies, they are as badly run as nmfc.

Recently a chinese blokes company bought em, then he borrowed a heap of money from the club that he didnt pay back so the club had to get some venture capitalists to bail them out.

A really good friend of mine grew up in Birmingham. Spent the 80s as a young hood in a Villa firm but he always had a soft spot for them, reckons most of his footy hooligan mates did as well when they were young.

Yeah same here Colts in the NFL Cowboys in the NRL Taipans NBL live in Far North QLD hence those 2 Golden state NBA Sharks in the NHL Vic in the Shield Cricket and Leicester in the EPL had a lazy 100 on them the year they won it at 40 to 1 half way through the year.

The Brewers are a bit like the Kangas of the MLB. Good for you! I'm the opposite, I've only got one struggle in me - the rest of my clubs are dripping in cash.

MLB - Braves

Much like the Roos in the '90s, they were consistenly there at the pointy end and there's a very good argument that both sides should have won more of their respective championships during this era. It was hard to go past the three-headed monster of Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz, and Chipper was such a class player as well.

NFL - Jaguars

Every kid seemed to love the Raiders, so when the expansion team came out I saw it as the perfect time to pick a team that nobody else had. What a poor choice this has been...
