Some friends and I house sat a relative of mine's house about ten years ago. They let us sink a fair bit of piss and it was good to get away from our each of our parents for a bit.

It started with the TV randomly turning to static. Thought it was our mates taking the piss, so we flipped it back. Then it would flip to static.

Then the cat hissing randomly at corners of the house, in particular in my younger relatives' room (the kid refuses to sleep in there and has awful night terrors about 'the man' or 'the woman' in the house).

The doozy was when we were out the front. A person walked past and asked if we had any cigarettes. 'nope, sorry mate' I said. I turned around and the bloke was gone. I then look at my two mates who have turned pale white and they say 'we couldn't see his face and he looked right at us'.

I have never seen such fear on faces before.

A few other weird things happened and we called it quits and bailed from the house sitting.
**** that...

Go try find that house I mentioned. It's the first house I thought of when reading the stories (cause he said he went to that school) and also cause I used to walk past that house on my way (also went there). It's big and creepy asf looking

posted a pic....that it?

also, like you said earlier....it's a school for grade 7-12, not kids. probably not canterbury girls, like you said, thats a public school, it would have to be a private school and probably for 7-12 graders.

Altona Homestead

https://maps.google.com/?cid=410546489870683733 (128 Queen Street Altona)

Altona Homestead, once the Langhorne family residence, is now home to the Altona Laverton Historical Society. The property is filled with furnishings and homewares from the 1840s to the 1900s and is also known for its Devonshire tea. This might seem normal, but it also hosts monthly ghost tours. Sarah Langhorne died at the homestead in 1871, and people have claimed to see her ghost. Altona Homestead has even attracted international attention from paranormal investigators.

Willsmere (Kew) Mental Asylum

Originally known as Kew Lunatic Asylum, and later changed to Willsmere, one of Australia’s largest asylums was operational for more than a century – from 1871 to 1988, when the state government repurchased the buildings and the surrounding grounds. The asylum was then transformed into residential properties, but a stipulation was that the development had to preserve the original facade. Imagine the spirits haunting those corridors.

Have you checked heritage listed homes?
I posted a link for him, shows all the Federation style, Edwardian style, etc homes in Australia as a timeline with addresses.

I reckon it "has to" be the last picture i posted. That's on there, across the road from a grade 7-12 private school.

Tho if Grizzy did go to that primary school, that creepy house across the road from it, could also be it...tho it aint listed in that link.

but in that link there are hundreds of ones listed in toorak and surrounding areas, and I don't know my melbourne suburbs, but still reckon it's the camberwell school "surely", fits the descriptions, tho not creepy looking like the house on the corner.

Giving up the Ghost?
Melbourne's Rivoli Cinemas never sleep. Even after the last show of the night, when all the staff have gone home, a host of dwellers allegedly roam through the historic building. The old man in row P of Cinema One remains in his seat awaiting the next film, while the old lady in the foyer gently blows the dust from the counter tops. Along the "whispering stairwell" ghosts are said to argue amongst themselves.

The Rivoli Cinemas in Camberwell, to Melbourne's East, are one of many haunted locations in Australia. A handful of now familiar spectres and spooks have often been perceived by staff at the cinema. Meaghan Crozier, who has worked at the Rivoli for the past two years, recently told the Melbourne Weekly of the time she tried to leave the Cinema One projection room at the top of the whispering stairwell. "There were lots of voices, it sounded like a dozen, young whispery voices," she said.

Sorry if i missed it, did Grizz say he went to school around there? Or near his home?

He said he went to Canterbury Primary School. However he said he lived in a haunted house across the road from a school (not sure what school) which we assume was a high school. The 2 stories he posted are in the original thread you saw me and also a few pages earlier in this thread

Black Rock House, Black Rock

Mystery has always surrounded this historic property, built in 1856 for Victoria’s first Auditor-General Charles Ebden. Built in the style of Black Rock Castle in Ireland’s Cork, the home was the Ebdens’ seaside retreat, and also used to entertain Melbourne’s elite. After falling into disrepair, it has now been restored to its former glory. Mystery has always surrounded the house, from rumoured underground tunnels to haunted cellars and the ‘death room’. Black Rock House is said to house no fewer than 13 identified spirits, including a young woman named Annie who usually takes a shine to male guests.

Point Cook Homestead, Point Cook

The former home of Scottish settlers the Chirnside family, this homestead and adjacent stables were built in the 1850s and have more than their fair share of dark secrets. Surrounded by beach and bushland, the homestead is said to be haunted by Thomas Chirnside, as well as other stablehands and lost souls, most of whom met a gruesome end. Visitors to the stables also report hearing racehorses long since passed.
