I don't believe in ghosts but I've had 1 experience I can't explain. Other members of my family have had experiences as well.

I used to live on a house that was on a corner of an intersection. The council eventually put in a round-a-bout to slow people down and waste rates payers money. This particular evening I was approaching the roundabout from east, heading west and on my right as I'm slowing down for the roundabout I see orange reflector lights of which I conclude are the reflectors of a push bike due to the colour and movement.

As it's night, I have my headlights on so I can see the reflectors but strangely I can't see anything else and my headlights are definitely working. I can't see the bike frame, I can't see a rider. Just the cats eye reflectors moving. The bike makes a right turn to end up ahead of me so I can now see the cats eye reflectors on the pedals going up and down but then as the bike passes my driveway it just disappears. I remember thinking did he just turn into my driveway? So I zoom in to my driveway, nothing there. I reverse out and drive around the block looking for this bike... It just vanished into thin air.

On that street a cyclist was killed about a year or so prior to my experience, so I do wonder if it was him or if my mind was playing tricks on me. I can't explain what I saw that night.

My mum and step-dad live on a farm, and my Mum was telling me she saw a little black dog running around when she was out in one of the paddocks, she said she saw it running and then it just disappeared into thin air. She described the dog to my step-dad and he said it matches the description of a dog he had as a kid.

Another time, we were spending the weekend at another farm. On this trip there was my immediate family, me, my sister, step dad and mum. No one else. It wasn't a working farm, more of a weekender farm. Late at night my step dad got up to goto the toilet and saw a tall man walk in just before him, so he had to wait. There was no one else with us that could have fit that description. This is where it could get weirder, 2 people have died in separate accidents on the farm and they would have fit the description if they were with us and alive.

Years and years ago my step brother had a car crash at 17, he was the only person in the vehicle. Someone that lives nearby the scene of the accident received a phone call from a relative of my step-brother to alert them that the step brother had crashed. The problem is the caller has been deceased for quite awhile.

Not personal experiences, but My partner is a nurse, and regularly sees paranormal things. So a very trustworthy source.

Tonight, she saw a man walking down the hall (he was see through), she spoke to a colleague about it and her colleague described what he was wearing. They both have seen the same figure.

She also had a situation where a patient was nearing the end, and one of the other patients in the room asked her why there was someone standing at the door (this was at 2am). She didn't look to check if there was a figure there, but she said that when people are dying someone usually comes to get them. The patient died that night.

They're a couple of the stories she's told me about.

She did well enough to not shit herself

My partner has worked in a nursing home and had to do a night shift once. She swears she saw someone walk past a doorway but when she looked out the door, no one was there. Later on she found out that a lot of people working there had seen similar things and it was fairly common around there.

I have also had an experience which happened about a week after my father passed away. Coincidence? Maybe. I'm not sure what to think of it TBH.
Anyway, my partner and I were watching a movie alone in the dark when I heard footsteps come down the hallway. I didn't think anything of it at the time so just continued watching the movie. Then the weirdest thing happened - the kettle started boiling. So I went to check it and the power wasn't even switched on at the wall. I wasn't sure what to do so I just left it and it stopped boiling. I should mention that we were at my mother's house at the time so I told her when she came home but she wasn't surprised and said it had been happening for the last week or so. Eventually she bought a new kettle and it stopped happening so maybe it was just a faulty kettle.

A kettle can kind of switch themselves back on if someone hasn't put it back on the base properly and it's eventually dropped back down to make electrical contact again. But not if it's switched off at the powerpointl..

That's the part that creeped me out! I even doubled checked to see if it was switched on but it wasn't.

My bedroom is like a loft, with the living area, another bedroom, kitchen etc downstairs. Every night that I go to bed, within about 2 minutes, it sounds like someone is going around switching all the light switches off downstairs. Haven't been able to put my finger on what it is but the day one of the lights comes on I'm out the bedroom window and sleeping in the car.

pantskyle may or may not be able to verify parts of this as it happened when I was about 17-18 so he would have been about 13-14 (and perhaps sleeping through it) but back in our house in Noble Park we had this big dining room which had our computer in in and as there was at the time four brothers that would all want to use the internet we would all get designated times and I would generally sit on there until early morning as I was the eldest and had finished school. Anyway, also in that room was a toybox for our youngest brother who was a toddler. At that time, the baby brother was complaining quite often about "that boy" that who had been playing with his toys. Anyway, I'd be sitting in the dining room with my back to the entire house on the computer and one night I got a huge shock when this Elmo branded Jack-In-The-Box the kid had started slowly winding itself with this freakishly slow playing of 'Pop Goes The Weasel'. I don't think I was scared as such (definitely frozen and numb though) and as soon as it ended with Elmo jumping our screaming "Surprise!!!" I was pretty much done with being awake for that night and took myself off to bed, heart pumping and sweating. And on some nights when the house was quiet very late and I was still awake, the slow sound of that song could be heard ever so slightly.

That house had it's issues, I can tell you.

That house was ****ing haunted no doubt. I think I might have mentioned a few things in this thread which happened in that house.

He does do a good Elmo impersonation :thumbsu:

Remind me to tell you on Saturday all the other stuff that happened I'm hesitant to mention here as it's kinda nuts and some parts possibly faked (for example the ouija board I did with Mum, Dad and that write-off brother which I'm certain was real but I don't say anything in case somebody there says they faked it).

And then there's the small roars I would hear outside my window that I thought was a possum until I realised they would start at the same time (say, 11.30pm every Sunday) for months but never at any other time. Now that was freaky.

Weirdo.

i remember it like yesterday. i was sitting at my desk, office was dead quiet. the only sounds were the passive aggressive mashing of buttons on my laptop, punctuated with a mouse click here and there. i felt a sudden chill in the air and i stiffened in my seat, i swear the whites in my eyes flooded my eye sockets. i looked at the screen and swear something was coming out to grab me. next thing i remember was looking at the clock, 4.00pm, the past 10 or so minutes i had no recollection of.

i went back and retraced my steps and found these in a new tab:

Brothers do that, stinky.

Does the kettle have a light to show that power is coming to it? Was that on or off? Could be a faulty power point, but if that light wasn't on, then THAT is really freaky!

This was a couple of years ago so my memory is a little hazy but I don't recall any lights being on the kettle and I'm certain the power was switched off, both on the kettle and at the wall, otherwise I would have turned it off myself.

I just remembered another time I experienced something creepy and unexplained. I used to work with a few people in a small office which was basically just a room being rented in fairly old house and my desk used to be right next to the door to get into the room. Anyway, I used to stay back late all the time after everyone else had left the building and every now and again I would hear the sound of light footsteps running down the hall just outside the door. At first I thought it was someones children running around while they were getting something from their office or something like that. After a few times of opening the door and finding nothing I got a bit creeped out. Not long after that I lost my job so I haven't really thought about it since then but the building certainly had an odd feeling about it.

25 years ago I arranged to meet a friend at a certain place in the Bendigo region which was about half way between our houses. From there we were going to travel to another friend's house. I arrived at the meeting point, and as I drove down the street, I noticed my friend's car on the opposite side of the road, parked outside a local church. I slowed down and drew level with his car and looked across the road and saw his face looking at me. I then proceeded to swerve around and park behind his car. I sat in my car for a few seconds as I was unsure whether we were going to take his car or mine. When he did not get out of his car I assumed he wanted us to go in his car, so I got out and went around to the passenger seat side of his car and knocked on the window. A few seconds passed and he did not unlock the door for me. Wondering why, I bent down to see what he was doing, but I could now see that he was not in the car.
My friend showed up a few minutes later, he had gone to the toilet in the church grounds, but I was convinced I had seen his face through his car window.

About 2 months ago went to a mates place who was house sitting in Goodwood, a fairly old suburb of Adelaide. He was saying that he has been hearing all sorts of noises, doors slamming that sort of stuff and he just had this general feeling that he wasn't welcome, never really felt at ease. As we were leaving, standing there lingering in the hallway saying our goodbyes, one of the light bulbs overhead randomly blew and fell out of its socket missing us by millimetres. It's an older house so had very high ceilings. Was pretty freaky.

I'm not sure if something happens with a light bulb that could make it pop out of its socket when it blows? Needless to say we got the feck out of there.

Were you talking about the Crows at the time?
