In 2003 Collingwood d Brisbane in the QF. Brisbane then went on to beat them in the GF. Geelong didn’t play finals in 03. Brisbane beat Geelong in the PF in 04.Cats vs Lions is like 2003 and 2015 with the loser of the QF meeting again the GF. Hawks lost a QF by 32 points to WC in Perth and the Lions lost a QF by 38 points to Geelong in Melbourne before both bouncing back with big semi-final wins

Then swap Richmond for Brisbane and Gabba for MCG
I like the romanticism of them breaking free of Essendon/Carlton in total premierships.
If Brisbane win, even though I've been against them this season (too inconsistent for a defending premier). I won't cry myself to sleep if they went back to back.
Geelong..... arghhhhh I'd prefer they didn't but if nobody can stop them.... congrats I guess![]()
Dull because you dont want either to win it.In order of preference;
Geelong v Brisbane - two of the best sides over the last 7 years. Geelong have one premiership, one runners up, and 6X PF. Brisbane have one premiership, one runners up and 5X PF. Virtually identical. You’d want to see two of the best sides face off for bragging rights.
Collingwood v Hawthorn - Never happened given the rich history of both clubs. If Hawthorn make it all the way they’d be a team with nothing to lose and beating Geelong would put them in great stead to beat Collingwood. They play aggressively, fearlessly, and are packed full of arrogance.
Collingwood are a system based side. Would love to see how they’d match up against a very chaotic and cavalier Hawks.
Brisbane v Hawthorn - Hawks have a good history until this year. I’d genuinely back them to get up here. Could be 08 expectations to be honest; everyone tipping Brisbane to beat the freshly finals minted Hawks. Back to back beckons for the Lions. Would be a monumental effort. Absolute shoot out as well.
Geelong v Collingwood; Pretty dull proposition but unfortunately the most likely.
I’d like Geelong to win that, for sure.Dull because you dont want either to win it.
You’d not mind Brisbane?I'm gonna boo whoever wins no matter what!
Would be awesome!!Geelong are the biggest villain left, so I'm surprised to see people voting for them vs Brisbane.
Hawthorn vs Collingwood is intriguing because both teams flogged one another this season, and it would be the deciding game. Also never met in a GF.
Geelong V Collingwood would just about save the season that has been a mediocre one since the start.
Don't think they learnt anything. Did the exact same thing but instead GCS couldnt stop them.
Same movement to the hb flank between boundaty and centre, then bringing it through corridor at all costs. Very sloppy footy of GCS who did nothing to stop it.
The only thing that has been a glaring obvious of the finals so far is adelaide has been unable to lift to the level required finals footy.
You could probably say wuth confidence all other 7 teams would have beaten them based on what we have seen to date.
lack intensity at the contest with their game plan.
They just were not up to finals footy. Both freo and GCS also would have beaten themApparently Adelaide lost ALL 8 quarters in their 2 final games just played at their home ground, if so that's diabolical and bad as it gets after finishing on top of ladder at seasons-end with hefty percentage..... ouch, that hurts if I was a Crows fan!
You’d not mind Brisbane?
What's romantic about that??I like the romanticism of them breaking free of Essendon/Carlton in total premierships.
What's romantic about that??
Am I missing some sarcasm here or something?Collingwood having the most premierships is a good thing
