I do the same with the car doors now after a long run of electric shocks..I usually shut them with my forearm.

When leaving work on a Friday I usually check my watch a few times just to make sure it is 5.30 and I am allowed to leave.

If I need to cook something in a microwave for 30 secs I will do it for 33 seconds to save time between having to move my finger to the 0.

Other than my OCD, which I think is under control. Well the doctor says it is, my wife says it isnt, my kids agree I hope, and everyone who knows me says I am fine and pats me on the back and says I am doing well but sometimes I think they are having me on and making fun of me but I know that I am good so I dont care what they say but it is going well but sometimes I think people are staring at me and laughing behind my back but they have the problem not me they are laughing at themselves and are jealous because I am feeling better and they dont want me to.
just remember to *breathe*

The volume control on the TV has to be resting on an even number for me to happily watch it.

Same as above... I really can't think of any of my own.

Your question sounds really facetious, not to mention rhetorical and obnoxious.

But what Nic said just about covers it.

;) :D

facetious
Playfully jocular; humorous.

rhetorical
silver-tongued

obnoxious
Very annoying.

So are you saying that my question is annoyingly silver-tongued but quite funny, in a playful sort of way.

Where have we met before?:)

not really a quirk either but i will never ever take a bath. The whole notion of cleansing oneself in his/her own filth got lost on me somewhere along the line.

Nothing like a steaming hot radox bath on a Sunday arvo with the footy on the radio.

But I don't wash in the bath either, as soon as I'm ready to get out of the bath then it's straight into the shower for the soap and scrub. That's about as quirky as I get.

I eat the crusts of my toast first.

I generally have some form of meat as the last item left on my plate.

I check the all doors at work are locked both inside before I exit, and then outside after I exit the building.

I always fix errors in my posts as soon as I notice them.

I always know exactly how much money is in my wallet. This actually came in handy when my wallet was stolen in a burglary, and I described it to the police...including it containing $55. One $20, two $10 and three $5. They found it, with that exact amount in it :).

Haha nice to see you did a bit of your own research for once.

We haven't met but *shudder* there is always a first time... ;) :D

I hate it when people don't let the microwave oven finish, and then leave the timer on something stupid like 0:17 (instead of the clock).
I always have to reset it (and then chastise whoever has done it....)
:p

I'm also with Darky on the punctuality thing - even if you're going to be 2 minutes late, I expect a phone call in advance damnit!
:D

Not sure if you could call it a quirk.. but ever since I went away during the christmas holidays.. I haven't shut a car door normally.. almost every time I shut the car door when I was away- I would get one of those shock things.. and now I will either cover my hand to shut it, or push the window to close it.

 I do exactly the same thing! I cannot shut a car door normally without getting a shock, so now I always get out, walk around and close the door by pushing the window or some other outer part.

Other things
- I have to press 'clear' every time I use a microwave otherwise I'm convinced it won't work properly.
- Everything on my bedside table has to be lined up perfectly before I can sleep (usually lip balm, phone and water bottle)
- Obsessively checking spelling, punctuation etc. on anything and everything, including friends' work and advertising.
- Looking up a word in a dictionary when I don't know what it means. I can't just let it go or skip over it. And then I start 'reading' the dictionary - I'll see another word and think, 'I've always wondered what that means' and look at that, then remember another word I meant to look up, which will be near another word, and so on...
- I have to answer a phone during a ring, never in between rings.

I tend to do things obsessively...checking everything over and over and so on.

ditto

I sleep with my feet sticking out of the blankets.

I like to put things like pens, pencils, and golf tees in my mouth. For that reason I'm glad I never smoked.

I'm right-handed at almost everything, but I play pool/billiards left-handed.

I have some pretty eccentric eating habits too.

If i'm eating a slice of pizza, I pull all the toppings off and eat them first before I eat the rest of the slice. Sometimes I even pull off all the cheese.

Sometimes I do a similar thing with sandwiches - I'll tear it in half and then eat what's inside it (if it's meat or something) and then eat the bread after it. I also like to eat plain bread, without anything on it.

I like to eat peanut butter sandwiches open-faced.

I eat limes and lemons.

I used to put Heinz ketchup on almost everything I ate, but I don't really do that anymore. Just on my burgers and chips now.

I also pretty much have to eat everything one at a time on my plate.

I can't think of any I have, but my flatmate has the most annoying quirk I have ever seen... she eats her food from the outside in. Example: If she eats a sausage roll, she will eat all of the pastery before she eats the meat. I get so frustrated watching her eat.. JUST TAKE A BITE OUT OF THE BLOODY THING!!

A friend of mine has a similar habit. If he is eating a meal he will eat all of one thing first then another and so on, rather than eating a bit of each thing. For example if he has a plate of steak and veges he will eat all the carrots, then all the peas, then all the potatoes then all the steak. He always leaves the meat til last. It's bloody annoying watching him eat.:p

I forgot about this one.
I'm always adding up numbers. Like, I always count up the numbers on licence plates, or phone numbers on the sides of vans. No idea why. I do that whenever I walk into a room too and I don't even realise I'm doing it.

Seriously, Jason... take my advice

Get it sorted before it escalates into a huge problem

I started that kinda **** when I was 9 (now 19)... I still have quite a serious problem with OCD to this day... and it started with counting numbers... (got to the stage where I would count letters in words and look for their numerical equivalent then add THOSE up) eg: "Fruit" = 6+ 18 + 21+ 9 + 20 = 74

Seriously, if you can find a way to stop it. DO IT.

If you touch the ground with your hand before you touch the car door (or whatever else), you won't ever be shocked. I guess this is my quirk as I always do this before touching anything metallic, and people will give me real funny looks. I guess the strangest thing is that the shocks aren't painful at all yet I do everything possible to avoid it.

... i dont like to eat chocolate bars that mention "may contain nuts", as i still think its bugs not nuts that it means.

... i have to look over a menu at a cafe even though i order the same thing

... i tend to talk about stuff i have no idea about to join into a conversation.

... when driving and i'm putting the "power drive" on, i tend to look over the steering wheel to make sure its on, then to make sure its off....about 40x

... At the footy i eat my hot dog, the dog then the bread.. and put sauce on the bread and dip the sausage in it

... i leave a little bit of liquid in the bottom of my drink bottle because it's "saliva"
