From 12th to premiers would be a once in a life time shot you would think

Put some money down if your that confident it would pay big or it will blow your cash

Richmond ring a bell ? ..... Collingwood to the GF ring a bell

You do realise the Crows are either 2nd or 3rd in the betting for next season

Hawks round 1 team likely to be short at the back, so we could stretch them playing Fog.

That SANFL squad would give Carltons A's a run for their money I reckon. A healthy squad + those new recruits/removal of deadwood and our whole list looks healthier. A few senior players as depth that can put in good performances at AFL level, and plenty of 1st-3rd years players that should be pushing for AFL selection during the year.

AFL wise that squad looks about on-point for Rd1, except expect Atkins to be in there. Having an in-form Smith, Seedsman, Laird, M.Crouch, Sloane, Tex, Atkins will be key to how we do in 2019. These guys are a class above in how they use the ball. Teams like Melbourne have elite mids but butcher the ball going forward over and over. In 2017 these guys were our point of difference and will be again.

Have a feeling they might like to fit Kelly in there somewhere, probably for Murphy, as the selectors seem to really like him.

We are not second or third in the betting next year but 6th
Yes....a great year to have a sneaky bet on the Crows.
Not often a list like this....with its current profile...is paying $16 before losing a game.
I think a few bookies have forgotten Smith and B Crouch are elite ;)

Bookies don't care who is or isn't in the squad, odds are generally formed from the amount of money being placed on teams its not personal with bookies its about profit

Really?....i thought they did it for love ;)
The opening market is still based on form....otherwise every team would be opened at the same odds yeah?
Im guessing the Crows will come in a long way once preseason draws to a close and the squad is fit. After a big round 1 win....even a few Vic punters might jump on board.

Yes they will have a preferred structure

But is Murphy up to the standard required very unproven inability mcadam may or may not be a better option

Hell otten had a great 2017 when we pretty much had a great side and he was a solid part of it

Are we challenging next year or developing is probably the bug question , after finishing 12th

We can still do both - challenge and blood a few new players to get exposure. These coming preseason games are early awaited, as it would give us a better indication of who to pick, who has the better fitness/flair, and who fits better with the overall structures.

There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be challenging next year, but yes we should always be looking to develop the next generation. However, if we’re not going all out premiership now with our list profile, we never will.

A backline with Talia and Keith as the talls
Doedee the medium
Brown, Laird, Smith, Milera the smalls/runners

Is bloody exciting. Fast, rebound, intercepts, some long kicking

Hope this is what we go with

Big unknown is whether three of our best forwards - Walker, Betts, Lynch - return to full fitness/form next season.

We looked slooooow in the front half last year. Couldn't put distance on our opponents, couldn't trap the ball in or pressure them on the way out.

There is a queue forming on the fringes of the team in that part of the ground - Fogarty, Himmelberg, Stengle, McAdam, Murphy plus hopefully a fit Knight and Douglas possibly no longer spending any time in the midfield.

Galucci makes my team, although this time last year I had written him off. He showed glimspes of an AFL player although worry about his foot injury.
Galluci is ready for a breakout year.. Hope he has a good preseason. Had alot of cameos but if he can be consistent and maintain 4 qtr effort, could be a real surprise packet imho.

Totally agree.

Galluci is my tip for the player to have the big break-out year in 2019.

He has every asset to do so. He's got pace, leap, can take a good grab, nice kick at top pace either foot, can play inside or out.

He was developing nicely last year with his cameos getting bigger and bigger as the season progressed..

He's cherry ripe now - the break-out year awaits.

A 200 gamer in the making IMO.

Wonder if there’s a possibility of playing Hartigan at CHB and Keath in that vacant forward pocket role?
Riley Knight ahead of Douglas? Unsure.
Obrien ahead of Sauce? Unlikely.
Do we stick with Kelly in the 22 ahead of a mid/HF? (Ie Douglas)
Fogarty Vs McAdam
CEY misses out?

Keath could be used a swingman, but given our forward options, I doubt he will play too many games forward. Could rotate him with Fogarty at times for their development.

Knight will be best 22 when fit. ;)

I doubt we will play Kelly ahead of a quality midfielder, but he is handy defensive depth who will be urilised during the season.

I think both Fogarty & McAdam will play games but Fog more. Could be a horse for courses on conditions & also we should be rotating/managing players during the season to develop our depth.

CEY misses & is a depth inside midfielder.
