Just on Hinkley wasn’t he a runner up in a brownlow? And wasn’t he ko’d in a game he’d dominated until ht and arguably would have collected the 3 votes to win it?

Yes 1992, he came 3rd in the Brownlow and was 3 votes shy of the winner Scott Wynd. I think you may be right about the misfortune in that 1 game, though I can't remember the actual game it was. Another fact about Hinkley is that he is Gary Rohan's cousin.

Earlier in the year the Cats smashed the Bears by 154 points on their way to setting the League record of 239. The Brisbane Coach at the time was Robert Walls who allegedly didn’t want a repeat of this in the return game later in the year at KP so instructed his players to go the knuckle. Prior to the start of the game all 18 players were in their starting positions on the ground wrestling with their direct opponents. Just prior to halftime Kenny was cowardly hit from behind as previously mentioned. The incident can be seen here at 1:00:59.

Despite this we still smashed them by 93 points.

Nice work! By you this is. As for the bloke who hit Ken, what a loser.

Yes. Against Brisbane in late 1992. Was absolutely racking up touches until king hit behind play by Peter Worsfold. This was the game when Walls told every Brisbane player to hit their opponent at the opening bounce.

Must have tried hard to follow coaches orders but it took him that long to get close enough to hit him?

I was at this game - that dirty c**t Walls knew that we couldn't fight back because the finals weren't far away and so we didn't want anyone rubbed out. Brisbane went the bash all day long - they still lost, though HA HA HA. F**k you, Robert Walls!
