Probably a bit too early for this type of thread, but it has been a really slow off-season.

What would your team's best 22 look like come Round One 2018.

Also feel free to post why you chose said players, in particular bolters that you feel are primed for a big 2018 season.

I was keen on North getting Venables, how has he been progressing?

Recovery from hot spots early in the year. Then played some decent WAFL before getting turf toe. Then never came back.

Really hope he can have a full preseason and play on a flank for us in round 1.

This is a really quick attempt. The Ruck there is no clear stand out, and, I really would like to see Aliir in there. A draftee probably will step up into the team as there is always 1 per year. J. Dawson has huge wraps on him from Swans supporters and Florent should be around the mark to who are notable omissions from the squad.

I would like to see this. Broad to come back after suspension with Miles to be strongly knocking on the door along with Conca, Lloyd, CEllis, Stengle, Menadue and Hampson.

That's actually a pretty exciting blend of youth and experience. Not saying we're flag contenders next year, or even the year after, but the future looks bright again....

B. Corr Davis Shaw
H/B Adam Kennedy Haynes Tomlinson Williams
C Ward Whitfield Scully
HF Deledio Cameron De Boer
FF Greene Patton Himmelburg
R Lobb Shiel Kelly
IC Hopper Taranto Setterfield

1.Zac Williams plays as our 7th back, linkman so have placed him there.
2. Griffen definitely possible just anticipating Setterfield will demand a spot through the off season.
3. Possible we'll go for big Dawson as ruck with Lobb relieving forward. That leaves no spot for Himmelberg though and his defensive pressure forward and the ability to kick goals is important.
4. All the small forwards rotate through the midfield and their positions are notional.

Gardiner Andrews Hodge
Mayes McStay Witherden

Christensen Beams Cameron

Taylor Walker Robinson
McLuggage Hipwood Lester

Foll: Martin, Zorko, Rich

Int: Allison, Cutler, Berry, Matho
No Basti?

B: Geary Brown Gilbert
HB: Roberton Carlisle Webster
C: Newnes Armitage Sinclair
HF: Billings Bruce Weller
F: Membrey McCartin Gresham
R: Longer Ross Steven
INT: Acres Dunstan Steele Savage
E: Stevens Freeman Lonie White

Stevens stiff, as he came about equal-5th in our B&F this year for B&F votes per game played, but if Armitage is back fully fit and in form he probably gets the nod. Either one would be very stiff to miss.

I also imagine whoever we get with picks 7 and 8 in the draft could easily enough be in the mix from round 1.

B: Jonas Clurey Byrne-Jones
