Your team's best moments of the 2010s

2013: 6 goals down halfway through the fourth quarter against North, but came back and won by a point. A fun moment in an awful year.

2015: Narrowly beating the Western Bulldogs away from home in the elimination final, less than three months after the tragic death of senior coach Phil Walsh.

2017: Comprehensively beating Geelong on a hot night in front of a record home crowd, advancing to our first grand final in nineteen years.

Then there was the moment of running onto the MCG on Grand Final Day. We didn't get the chocolates but it still meant a lot to me as a supporter that, after sitting through two decades and four prelim losses, we finally got to a grand final again.

collingwood

2011: prelim (best game ive ever seen) & swan winning brownlow after being absolutely robbed in 2010

2012 SF, PF
2013 Petrekno kicks winning goal vs North as a North fan gives him the middle finger in Adelaide's only 1 point win to date in the 21st century.
2015 EF
2017 PF
2018 come from behind win vs Port.

Nup. I've got nothing.

I'd say beating Geelong in Lyon's first game as coach is a good moment too. Pavlich's soccer kick to win the game is still a great moment.
Funny thing is..... You look at Freos best or most exciting games from 2010-2019. Some of those wins have been against Geelong.

I look at some of those exciting wins vs the Cats in Perth. We somehow play our best entertaining brand of footy vs the cats.

2010: Round 3. Freo wins 18.17.125 to the cats 17.16.118. Hell of a game. freo went 3-0 and set up freos season to play finals.

2011: Round 2. Freo loses 10.18.78 to cats 13.11.89. Another close and exciting game. 37,004 rocked up for a saturday evening game.

2012: Round 1: Freo wins 16.9.105 to 15.11.101. Pav kicks that snap goal at the end. Sandilands does a shoulder bump on selwood. Scarlett throws a punch and knocks out ballantyne.

2014: Round 9. Freo win 13.18.96 to 9.10.64. Pavs 300th.

2016: round 17. Freo lose 9.7.61 to cats 11.12.78.

2019: round 20. Freo wins 14.11.95 to cats 9.7.61. Impressive win with all the injuries. The forward line was basically Sean Darcy, a ruckman as our only tall. Walters and Matera played as forward pockets. the other 3 forwards were rotating mids.

We have also played two classic games down here that went down to the last kick this decade... Rd 20 2014 ( Mundy ) & Round 14 2017 ( Walters ).

- After a disastrous 2014 off season, to come out and play finals in 2015 was massive.
- Appointing Luke Beveridge as coach
- Beating Sydney away in the wet (2015)
- 2016 as a whole.
- Scraping into the finals in 2019 despite losing to North, Carlton, Gold Coast, Fremantle and St Kilda.

Funny that. Your mob doesnt dislike Mundy.

Richmond are terrified of him. Mundy kicked a goal after the siren at the MCG against them in 2015 and 2017.

Yeah, I'm sure the team that's just won 2 flags in 3 years is terrified of David Mundy.

H&A only (because that works for most of the decade anyway and 17/19 have far too obvious answers)

2010: First win under Dimma v Port in the slop, Riewoldt 10 goals v WC, 5 goal comeback v Sydney ft. Andy Collins
2011: winning dreamtime at the G, 7 goal win v Sydney
2012: another win over Sydney, 10 goal smashing of Hawthorn
2013: breaking losing streak to Carlton in R1, beating Hawthorn again in the wet to all but seal a finals spot for the first time since 01, 20 goal smashing of GWS
2014: 19 goal smashing of GWS ft. Jack's 11, entire 9 game streak culminating in a crazy 3pt win over Sydney to make finals from 3-10
2015: 8 goal first quarter vs then undefeated Freo, another 5 goal comeback v Sydney, beating Hawthorn (again), 15 goal smashing of Collingwood
2016: Lloyd after the siren, beating Collingwood on a Friday night after being under the microscope all week
2017: comeback Anzac Day eve win, 100pt smashing of Freo, reaching the top 4
2018: another bag of 10 from Jack v GC, achieving the club's best ever H&A record in 22 game seasons
2019: beating Port away without our 'big 4' after being pummelled in the last 2 weeks, 100pt first half vs GC, coming from behind to win arguably the game of the year v WCE

Of course none of that comes close to the 6 finals victories in 2017 and 2019

Plenty of highlights featuring us beating Hawthorn and Sydney, a testament to how good they were all decade and probably suggests we treated those games as our 'Grand Final'

I was actually there at the game. Never in doubt the crows were going to win that game.

For north outside of the 14-15 prelims, these home and away games were pretty memorable:
2010:1 point win against Brisbane after Greenwood’s goal from the boundary and the Friday night game against Carlton where Lindsay Thomas kicked 7.
2011: the game against Melbourne where they won by 41 points after Melbourne dominated the first quarter, the essendon game when Drew Petrie sealed the win.
not many from the first two years.
2012: the game against geelong (thought the club was on the verge of something after this game), big win against the 2nd placed crows, the game against the tigers where Petrie kicked 5 final quarter goals on the overrated dud rance, the game against essendon where the club had 1 man on the bench for most of the game and Harvey kicked 3 3rd quarter goals, the Collingwood game where Petrie, Hansen and tarrant made a mess of collingwoods defence.
what a false hope this season was.
2013: the tigers game where the club came in massive underdogs and won by over 60 points, the win against geelong. Let’s not get started on the games they should have won.
2014: the power arm wrestle where Jacobs, dal santo and Harvey kicked late goals, the Sydney win, beating Freo in Perth after a slow start, coming back from a slow first half to kick 9 3rd quarter goals against the tigers again, beating the hawks in the game where Brian lake got suspended for choking Petrie. Beating the top 10 teams all at least once this season.
2015: beating the cats in geelong in Trent dumonts debut, beating west coast in tassie, beating Freo who were 1st at the time.
2016: round 1 against Adelaide, beating the bulldogs in a low scoring game, Harvey’s record breaker, getting crippled by injuries and crumbling after a perfect start.
2017: the least said about this year the better, belting Adelaide after kicking 10 first quarter goals in tassie, beating Melbourne twice in thrillers, beating Brisbane and avoiding the wooden spoon.
2018: proving everyone wrong and belting st kilda on good Friday after a shocker first half, preventing a hawthorn comeback and winning, the swans game where mason wood kicked 4 including the winner, beating the bulldogs after ziebell kicked the winner with under 20 seconds left, beating west coast, beating Brisbane after rayner played on and missed.
2019: finally getting rid of Scott was the biggest win this club had all decade but the bulldogs win, shaws first game against Richmond, st kilda game where zurhaar and larkey kicked 10 between them, hawthorn win after a shocking first quarter, power demolition which included bens 10 goals, goldys ruck domination and midfield domination and the final game against Melbourne where Higgins kicked a late winner.
