Assuming everyone is fully fit, at their absolute peak (2019) condition.

1. Fyfe
2. Franklin
3. Dangerfield
4. Martin
5. Gawn
6. Grundy
7. J.Kelly
8. Cripps
9. Bontempelli
10. Daniher*

* IF we see a fully fit Daniher, I believe he's absolutely a top 10 in the comp player on ability to completely break open a game. Only Franklin would be ahead of him, and given Franklin's age, if we see JD at his best, Joe might even be better in 2019. Yes that is incredibly optimistic of me to say.

I think Fyfe at his peak is more damaging and able to drag a team over the line than Franklin, Dangerfield or Martin. Unfortunately he's both injury prone and rarely at peak fitness to do so.

Currently:

1. Nat Fyfe
2. Patrick Dangerfield
3. Buddy Franklin
4. Dustin Martin
5. Josh Kelly
6. Josh J Kennedy
7. Max Gawn
8. Patrick Cripps
9. Jeremy McGovern
10. Alex Rance

Going into 2019 if they were fit:
1. Nat Fyfe
2. Patrick Dangerfield
3. Max Gawn
4. Brodie Grundy
5. Dustin Martin
6. Patrick Cripps
7. Josh Kelly
8. Clayton Oliver
9. Jack Riewoldt
10. Stephen Coniglio

Contentious opinions:
No room for Buddy - he's not top 10 material anymore.
Definitely no room for key defenders - lets be real here playing key forward is like 10x harder than key defense. If you took the best key defenders in recent years eg Rance, McGovern, Hurley and Talia and moved them forward. They would all be decent but not elite forwards. If you took the best forwards and moved them back they would dominate.

Currently:

1. Patrick Dangerfield
2. Nat Fyfe
3. Dustin Martin
4. Max Gawn
5. Brodie Grundy

The top three are interchangeable to me. Depending on my mood or who I last watched I can easily switch these three. They are, in my opinion, clearly ahead of the other players in the league. Similarly Gawn and Grundy are so close that there is no point trying to determine who is actually better. I ordered them alphabetically.

6. Buddy Franklin
7. Clayton Oliver
8. Patrick Cripps
9. Marcus Bontempelli
10. Callan Ward

Good post. I reckon buddy is a bit cooked.

Cripps is tracking along exceptionally well but he is not a top 10 player in the AFL - He's another year or two away.
Agreed. Another player hyped to the max. What has he really achieved? A couple of BnF and an AA nod. He hasn’t driven his team to any success yet. His career is very similar to one of our own, Zachy Merrett. There’s no doubt that Cripps’ attributes are seriously top end and you’d probably take him over Zach in a schoolyard teams selection but at this point he is not top 10. Even Josh Kelly is stretching it.

Anyhoo;

1/ Dangerfield
2/ Martin
3/ Fyfe
4/ Franklin
5/ Pendlebury
6/ Selwood
7/ R Gray
8/ Cotchin (I know, he is easy to deride but his new- found level of intensity from 2017 on has driven success)
9/ Grundy
10/ Gawn

Based on what they might do this year Kelly, Cripps, Bont, Oliver and the like are all hovering but I still prefer those that have the runs on the board and are still performing at a high level.

Career-wise, of current players, Ablett, Hodge, JP Kennedy and Burgoyne would be i my top ten but are several tiers below their absolute best. Betts would be close too.

Career-wise;
1/ Ablett
2/ Franklin
3/ Danger
4/ Martin
5/ Hodge
6/ Pendlebury
7/ Fyfe
8/ Selwood
9/ JP Kennedy
10/ Burgoyne

Pardon my intrusion.

At their best in 2019

1. Fyfe
2. Martin
3. Dangerfield
4. J Riewoldt
5. Rance
6. Gawn
7. Grundy
8. Cripps
9. Yeo
10. Coniglio

Tried to be as subjective as possible, wanted to put Oliver in (He'll be top two soon) but purely in 2019 thats my prediction.
